An early 19th Century antique Georgian Regency period rosewood sofa table / console table / stretcher table / desk having a good grain rosewood top with twin drawers to the frieze with turned pull handles and false drawers to the reverse. The base having shaped sides with scroll carved detailing and inverted finials united by long turned stretcher all raised on plinth leg supports with turned wooden bun feet. Measures approx; 72cm x 106cm x 62cm. Floor to underside 61cm.

A Gustavian polychrome painted sofaEarly 19th century, the frieze extending to make a double bed, 200cm wide; 70.5cm deep; 110cm highCondition report:Paintwork scuffed and scratched overall, with much of the pine exposed. Some variation in colour from cream and blue-grey paint. General wear, chips, scuffs, dirt and some minor shrinkage commensurate with age and useHinged back, dropping back down.A few traces of old wood worm, mostly evident to the back sides, although very minor. Missing applied patera to the seat back and possible others replaced. The cushion seat filthy with tears to cotton covering. Replacement internal rails and pine plank base.

The original sofa was the idea of the surrealist poet, patron and collector Edward James who suggested to Salvador Dali a three dimensional sofa based on his painting Mae West's Face which may be used as an apartment, (1934/35). This sofa was originally designed for Monkton House on the West Dean Estate and is now in the Victoria & Albert Museum (W6-2018).

A Regency gonzalo alves sofa table, the rounded oblong drop-leaf top over two drawers on a turned collared stem and concave oblong platform, with gadrooned bun feet W.152.5cm D.71cm H.70cmCONDITION: The top sun bleached from left to right, now a light golden to gingery tone, again faded at the tip of the opposing flap, a fine split running at the back centre of the top from the middle to the back edge, handles and locks look original but no key present, some chipping to veneers around the saltire foot along with one or two short splits, concealed brass castors.
