Art Deco sofa suite Rosewood, comprising of an open armed sofa with two matching armchairs, all with contemporary striped upholstery, sofa measures 145cm wide x 69cm high x 80cm deep, chairs measure 68cm wide x 69cm x 80cm deep (3) Overall age related wear and signs of heavy use. The upholstery is not original and is in need of replacing. Some losses and chips to the veneer in places. Some repairs. Has had old restoration and some areas repainted. Glue residue to outer edge of the upholstered edges.

Y AN ANGLO-INDIAN EBONY SOFA MID 19TH CENTURY upholstered in calico 92cm high, 232cm wide, 71cm deep Condition Report: Sofa with the marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Various old splits and chips. Various old repairs - see images for details. Some later supporting blocks to the underside - see images. The rails to each end of the underside are possibly old replacements. Some joints opening slightly. Some movement within frame but sofa is structurally solid overall. Calico upholstery with some wear, marks and stains. Some of the piping the edges of the upholstery has wear and is detached in places. A modern cobalt-blue upholstered two-seater sofa by George Smith, Newcastle, England ( maker's label to underside), raised on turned front legs (LWH 148 x 107 x 90 cm high). (5 cm hole to upholstery lower left back) * Condition: The upholstery is very dusty and has surface dirt throughout from storage. It would probably clean up pretty well with careful use of upholstery cleaner. The structure is very sound. The small split to the upholstery to the right arm should be fairly easy to conceal with a careful stitched repair. The hole to the lower left corner of the back however (probably caused by a castor from another piece of furniture whilst in storage), is larger and not so easily stitched – it would ideally require a patch to repair. There is a small flap of material covering the zip on the seat cushion which could be cut off and used, as it is just about the right size.
