A late 19th century two-seater Chesterfield sofa; raised on turned front legs terminating in castorsThe width is 160cm, the depth is 84cm and the height is approx. 70cm. Condition - the material is worn and faded/stained in places and where the right-hand arm upholstery meets the back there are several prevalent tears to the fold. The material is much darker on the seat and arms as to be expected and the back. It is much lighter on the front section. There are no other major tears or rips etc. and it is noted that the ebonized turned tapering front legs with castors and the square back legs with castors appear to be the original legs and are in good honest condition with some scuffing noted commensurate with age. Overall a very nicely proportioned smaller Chesterfield the Auctioneer believes would benefit enormously from recovering etc.
A fine Kingcome two-seater sofa; upholstered in a Regency-style stripe and raised on turned tapering front legs terminating in brass castorsThe sofa 160cm wide, the depth is 88cm, the height at the back is 81cm. We think the seating cushions are foam and the back rest cushions are probably feather as they don't immediately spring out when pushed (the cushions have modern fire regulation labels).Condition - very good overall with no rips or tears apparent. The quality of the upholstery appears to extremely good and in the opinion of the Auctioneer this is a very good, modern, super quality two-seater which has not seen a deal of use whatsoever. Turned stainwood front legs with brass castor equally in good condition.
