A Victorian carved walnut and upholstered sofa, of diminutive proportions, later re-covered in striped fabric, the arched button back extending to carved scrolled terminals, and enclosing the sprung serpentine seat, above a channelled apron centred with a carved foliate crest, raised upon leaf carved French cabriole front legs, plain back swept rear legs and castors, 64cm H x 137cm W x 67cm DCondition reportLight water stain to the RHS of the seat, rubbed mark to the top of the back rest and also on the RH side, minor fading to the rear apron frame, general light marks and scuffs to the legs commensurate with age and use. Little or no play in the joints or frame.

A CURVED GILTWOOD AND UPHOLSTERED SOFA IN MID 18TH CENTURY STYLE 20TH CENTURY82cm high, 230cm wide, 82cm deep Condition Report: There are marks, knocks, abrasions and scratching consistent with use.The gilt finish is distressed in style with additional cracks, knocks and rubbing in areas revealing a dark underlayer.The upholstery fabric is a sage green/gray probably synthetic velvet which is intact but shows plentiful marks with some possible fading/stains. The upholstery if softly stuffed in modern style and in places when seated the stretchers under the seat can be felt. The underside of the bench seat has black fabric so the condition and under upholstery cannot be seen.The back and sides of this curved sofa have the same legs and decorated seat rail as the front and so the piece could be placed in the centre of a room.This probably dates from the third quarter of the 20th century, it is certainly not Edwardian nor is is more modern-recent manufacture, Please see the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition.Condition Report Disclaimer
