A Regency brass inlaid figured rosewood two-flap sofa table with split bobbin moulded edge above a pair of flush frieze drawers with raised entablature supported by an inverted crescent and navette base fitted four sabre legs terminating in brass lion's paw swivel castors. 88 cm wide x 66 cm deep x 60 cm overall height.both flaps with some curl.
A William IV Indian rosewood sofa/library table with radiused rectangular one-piece top, fitted a pair of frieze drawers on acanthus carved end pillars supports terminating in bold carved lion's paw feet. 153 cm overall width x 70 cm deep x 73 cm overall height, 62 cm knee height.Top faded but not split, a short run of bobbin bead missing to the drawer and also on the other side also, see images.One castor broken, one foot is loose and it's curling acanthus tongue is missing.I can't see any evidence of woodworm infestation.The cross grain edge has the odd knock consistent with age. Y AN UNUSUAL REGENCY PADOUK AND BURR YEW CROSSBANDED SOFA TABLE CIRCA 1815 Boxwood strung throughout72.5cm high, 96cm wide (with leaves down), 56cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use.Some old chips, splits and losses.Some old repairs and replacements.Some fading and discolourationThe timber to the friezes, drawer fronts and uprights, including the legs, varies from the timbers mentioned in the top and appears to be an exotic hardwood and a type of rosewood - CITES regulations may apply to this lot.Some old worm damage, including to the legs and rails.One leg has been broken or split through adjacent to the foot (see images).Some screws to castors and locks replaced.One leaf support loper and its adjacent supporting frieze element is a faithfully matched replacement.Below one lock is a channelled out section of timber (see images).Some other legs may have previously come loose and have been reglued or resecured.Handles and locks appear to be original, locks open, keys lacking.Some tape applied to underside of drawer bottoms for supportSome staining to drawer interiors, which are cedar lined throughout.Some old splits and joins are visible to the top, see images. Old splits, chips and losses to timber elements. One replaced front leg. Later supporting brackets to the backs of the rails. Central stretcher to the underside of the seat is an old replacement. Upholstery in generally good order overall with just some minor wear and 'pulls'. Some mill due to the underside. Some later nails put into the frame in places - see images. A REGENCY MAHOGANY SOFA TABLEEARLY 19TH CENTURY 72.5cm high, 101.5cm wide, 73cm deep Condition Report: There are scratches, marks, knocks, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use. There are losses, observations and restorations including: the top has a patch and is faded so that the drop leaves are darker, some gouges and a central sectional crack opened across the centre; the handles to one side are centred with mother-of-pear, the turned handles to the other side are possibly later; the pine drawer linings have some splitting; repaired breaks with visible cracks to two legs close to where they join the turned feet; overall knocks, marks, scuffing and some missing sections of veneer and mouldings. A suite of Paul Leonhardt larger scale dolls’ house furniture, circa 1925, painted in cream with gold highlights, comprising a display cabinet, desk, sofa, pair of chairs, armchair, piano stool and two round marble-topped tables.Illustrated by Jean Latham Dolls’ Houses, A Personal Choice, (1969), p.119. Exhibited at The First Convention of the Doll Club of Great Britain 1974. Similar pieces are illustrated in the 1925-26 Universal Toy Catalogue of John Hess.
