Sofa. Elm wood. Cm 142,00 x 96,00 x 80,00. Sofa in elm and fabric wood, 50s.The strong interest in the physicality of a shape in space leads Giulio Alchini to deal with architecture and design; the voracious knowledge of the works of the architect, urban planner and painter Le Corbusier is always of these years. He is fascinated above all by the approach that the great architect has with forms and styles. In fact, he is not interested in ideological coherence and even less in formal coherence: starting from an elementary module he builds on an environment in which sculpture, scenography, inconsistency and irrationality mix, continually intertwining, becoming the architecture of gesture and matter.Taken from: ALCHINI, edited by Fiorenzo De Gasperi, La Bottega dell'arte, p.9
