A MINTON FLORAL ENCRUSTED GLOBE POT POURRI BOWL AND COVER, C1825-30 painted with flowers to one side and an abbey to the other, 20cm h, crossed swords mark Provenance: Thomas Goode & Co, London where purchased (as "Coalbrookdale") on 11th August 1939 by Mrs Sanders of Blantyre, Nyassaland for £10; thence by descent to the present vendor. ++Some typical chipping of the leaves and petals and localised flaking of the green enamel on the handles where thickly applied. No significant damage such as cracks or chips save for a flat chip inside the flange of the cover, no restoration
A Swiss made ladies globe pendant brooch watch the dial is enamelled white with gold spot chapter ring with blue painted Arabic numerals apart from 12 which is picked out in red, with gold coloured hands. The reverse has a charming Essex crystal type carving of lily of the valley, suspended above the mechanism, yellow metal cased, with yellow metal chains linking to a bow fob brooch set with rose cut diamonds to the knot. Approx length 6.5cm, approx diameter of dial 18mm.

CARY PORTER GLOBE. A Cary Porter Ltd., celestial globe, Patent Number 21540. The globe with calibrated brass meridian & detachable hemisphere, housed in a mahogany case. Case size 20 x 20 x 21.5cm. CONDITION REPORTS: The globe itself is in reasonable condition with minimal surface scratching, but there is a noticeable graze on the surface, just below Ursa Major. This graze extends for approx. 2ins x 14ins. The globe turns well in its housing, but squeaks a little when turned. One of the steel ball bearings at the back of the box is missing. The removable brass quadrant on the top of the globe has been soldered with lead at the central X-join and it is possible that a positioning pin is missing, although the quadrant sits neatly on top.
