A Globe-Wernicke oak four section bookcase on typical plinth base, 86.5 cm wide x 32 cm deep x 153 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Fly dirt / mess on the bottom left corner is not woodworm. In need of a good clean. Has some minor surface scratches, etc. throughout and some losses to the varnish. General wear and tear conducive with age and use to include some minor knocks, bumps, dents, etc. Smells a bit musty when you open the doors. See images for further detail.

A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH SILVER AND ENAMEL TABLE VESTA, BY FRANÇOIS-DÉSIRÉ FROMENT-MEURICE (1802-1855) the hinged cover with finial depicting a winged putto holding torches atop a globe, a masked push-button opening to reveal a four section spring loaded interior, twin birds of paradise handles, mythological plaques and masks to the front and back, applied with round, oval, and rectangular foil backed paste stones, on a blue enameled ground, raised on four fire-breathing dragon form feet, engraved mark Froment Meurice. 11.5cm high A similar example was given to Prince Albert by Queen Victoria on his birthday, 26th August 1848. See the Royal Collection Trust. The enamel and stones are in excellent condition. The hinged cover closes tightly, and the interior mechanism functions correctly. Overall, it is in very good condition.
A 2 3/4 inch pocket globe and case, attributed to George Adams junior after Herman Moll, late 18th century; applied with twelve hand coloured printed gores with the equinoctial graduated in degrees and hours and the eclyptic graduated in days; the prime meridian labelled Meridian of London and the principal land masses outlined in colour and annotated with major rivers and mountain ranges, the oceans showing the winds with islands labelled and printed with dotted line for Cook's Track 1760; the North Pacific region with oblong printed title cartouche A Correct, GLOBE, with the new, Discoveries; the spherical fishskin covered case lined with twelve hand coloured printed gores and two polar calottes labelled A Correct Globe, with y New Constelations of Dr. Halley & c. with stars expressed in six orders of magnitude and allegorical representations of the constellations finely executed, overall diameter 8cm, (splits to case)
