An early 19th century miniature terrestrial globe by Carl Bauer, the 4cm educational globe made up of twelve engraved gores, signed with monogram 'MCB', contained in a marbled paper card box, the lid with a hand-coloured engraved label inscribed 'The earth with its inhabitants', the box containing a concertina pull-out frieze of twenty-eight engraved and hand-coloured peoples and costumes of the world, titled in English and German, 6.2cm wide.

Rev: crowned pillars with crowned double globe between with VTRAQVE VNUM legend and o/S mintmark for Santiago with date below. See KM# 5 for type. 23.13 grams. The 8 reales was not issued at Santiago mint for this date. Good very fine. [No Reserve]

The top section has some mechanism hanging loose, various light scratches scuffs and marks to the wooden components throughout. Bottom drawer very stiff, ironwork rusted in places. All over general signs of wear and tear through age and use. Handle is missing from one of the doors
