A third suggestion is to view the character (when turned through 90 degrees) as the Persian letter ye. Perhaps these wares were produced for a Persian or Mughal Indian patron/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: The pair are generally in nice condition. Each has a few scattered dimples to the glaze. One has a small firing hole/flaw in the glaze by the 'G' mark. The same vase has a tiny black flaw to the rim of the neck.
