A Persian globe of rectilinear bone panels with small depressions at the poles for mounting in a frame; painted with a scene of a huntsman on foot attacking a fleeing deer and mounted advancing on a leaping tiger; surface varnished later. 540 grams, 12cm (4 3/4"). Property of an Essex collector; acquired in UK, 1980s-2000. Fine condition.
