H HUGHES & SON LTD; a 7-inch Hewsun Star Globe dated 1920 and in original hinged wooden case with instructions to the underside of lid, width of case 27cm. CONDITION REPORT The case itself is very heavily worn but with the majority being surface marks. There are also some handwritten inscriptions detailing numbers and names. The globe itself is slightly stained but spins correctly. There are two pins locating to the frame and a third pin or pointer attached to the bar on the inside of the lid. Some pitting to the frame, which is numbered 2564 and some heavier wear around the centre of the globe, as you might expect. There is also a very tiny old repair where the lower pin locating to the frame. Please see additional photographs. Provenance: this piece is from a private collection in Surrey and the vendor's father taught at Liverpool Maritime College many years ago.The metal mount on the globe is loose as both pins fall out and are not able to be secured, the globe itself is scuffed in several place and scratched, the box is also very worn with deep scratches
