A Victorian Art Nouveau style etched and cut glass decanter, the baluster form neck panel cut below the rim and with etched lines down to the globular body, with etched petal and stamen drop decoration, star cut base, with conforming pear shaped stopper, 13¾in. (33.7cm.) high overall; together with a Victorian moulded milk glass shaft and globe decanter with brass and cork stopper, 10½in. (26.75cm.) high overall. (2)* Condition: Both in good condition with no faults. Expected scratching to bases from use.
A Victorian brass and cut glass Corinthian column oil lamp, the ebonised column on a brass plinth with wreath decoration and stepped square foot, the diamond cut glass bun form reservoir below a brass 'Best Duplex' burner and etched Art Nouveau style clear glass globe decorated with poppies, 28½in. EARLY 20TH CENTURY FRENCH BRASS GLOBE 'EMPIRE' CLOCK, patent no.: 19460, having French movement within brass pedestal base, the globe having equatorial Roman numeral chapter ring, stamped: Made in France, to base, no. 913. 30cm high approx.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Movement is not tested as working, the globe itself has some patches of loss, North of Mongolia, Central Europe on the Empire clock stamp itself, some patches in Africa also, significant wear around base of globe and a little dry and faded overall, Equatorial ring and globe seem a little close to each other and therefore rubbing as globe is moved.

In 1986, he was commissioned to sculpt and cast in silver ‘Belisarius’, the Blues and Royals’ drum horse, for the Warrant Officer’s Mess. A second cast, in bronze, was the Household Cavalry’s wedding gift to The Duke and Duchess of York. In 1993 he became a full-time sculptor.His specially commissioned work includes a pair of lifesize Cheetah in a bronze tree for the ruling family of Dubai, a large figure for the re-launch of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and the monumental Millenium sculpture “The Waterhole” at The Natural History Museum which incorporates over 50 animals. His work may also be found in the following collections; HRH The Queen, HRH The Sultan of Brunei, The Earl and Countess of Halifax, The Marquess of Hartington, Sir Anthony Bamford, Sir Christopher Lever and Lady Fairfax.

WRIGHT (J), BUFFON'S NATURAL HISTORY, of the globe and of man, four vols, decorated titles text illustrations, full leather with gilt detailing, London, 1831 (4) CONDITION REPORT: All bindings with age wear rubbing at edges and corners, spines a little lighter in colour. Internally with some foxing and general age wear browning, some corner creases but generally ok. There are no full page plates in this lot, only black and white text illustrations.
