A Victorian 19th century Grand Tour style bronze candlestick holder in the shape of The Winged Victory. The figure holding the candle holder. Raised on globe with circular base below. Measures approx. 41cm x 20cm x 13cm. Provenance - part of a collection from Netheravon House, in Netheravon, Wiltshire. The house was built after 1734 by Henry Somerset, 3rd Duke of Beaufort, on a commanding part of the chalk bluff that overlooks the Avon Valley, to the south of the 11th-century village church and close to where a Roman villa stood. The grounds were laid out by the landscape architect and astronomer Thomas Wright and published in Universal Architecture in 1755 and 1758.

An Art Deco figural lamp, the three gilt spelter maidens raised on a triform base and supporting a spherical glass shade48.5cm highPlease refer to the additional photos for a more accurate sense of the colour of the spelter, which ranges from a gilt to an almost green. There are some visble signs of handling marks, and minor graze to knee. There are some scuffs and marks, principally on the skirts of the ladies, commensurate with age and use. The glass globe is in good condition. Not electrically tested and will require re-wiring for use. Base is baized.

A rare Suffragette 'Angel Of Freedom' brooch. The circular silver green and purple enamel brooch designed by Sylvia Pankhurst, featuring the 'Angel of Freedom' standing before a globe containing the letters 'WSPU', a banner with the word 'Freedom' above, a scroll containing the words 'Votes for Women' at her feet, decorated with chains and flowers, maker Henry Matthews, hallmarked Chester 1910, with original pin, diameter 30mm.The 'Angel of Freedom' was designed by Sylvia Pankhurst for the Prince's Skating Rink Exhibition of May 1908 and features on the tea service designed for the café as well as numerous other items such as badges, jewellery and other ephemera. The WSPU was one of the first movements to take advantage of the use of logos and visual marketing to promote their cause and Sylvia Pankhurst, a highly talented artist, designed much of its merchandise and propaganda, with the 'Angel of Freedom' perhaps her most recognisable motif.The white enamel around the edge of the brooch has mostly chipped off. Minor areas of enamel loss to raised areas. Chips to the enamel on the back. Pin is good and original.
A 1950s Philips Challenge table globe - scale 1:37,500,000, 13½ in diameter, on a chrome meridian arc to a walnut base with compartment beneath containing a Philips Record Atlas, dated 1956, 45 cm high.* Condition: Good overall. Some pitting to the chrome arc and some small nicks scuffs to the join between the gores at the equator. A few small scratches. The edges of the gores have slight toning (pale brown discolouration). The atlas spine is sunned and the head and tail of the spine are worn.
An Edwardian brass and cut glass oil lamp by Hinks & Sons for Maple of London, the rounded square base repoussé decorated with foliage, scrolls and rocaille, below a reeded column and cut glass reservoir, the Hinks Patent burner above holding a frosted glass globe shade, 58 cm high inc. chimney.
ABRAHAM VAN DEN HECKEN (DUTCH 1615-1669) SCHOLAR SEATED BESIDE AN OPEN PSALTER, GLOBE, AND A MOMENTO MORI Oil on panel Signed (lower left) 53 x 44cm (20¾ x 17¼ in.)Provenance: David Wade Fine Art Ltd, North Yorkshire Condition Report: The panel presents a very superficial surface scratch of about 2 cm in the upper left corner, and three small, dotted chips of paint loss on the left centre border, of about 1mm. UV light reveals an uneven varnish, and various retouches in the background area. The most evident ones are in the lower left corner, and at the lower centre, where some paint has been applied to cover a thin crack of the panel. Other visible retouching is evident in the right of the curtain, where there are two patches of about 3 cm wide. To conclude, scattered dots of retouches are present in the background area near the globe. There are also very small retouches on the head of the astrologer, which are though hardly noticeable.Condition Report Disclaimer

Early 20th century bronzed metal globe clock, having single train movement with gilt Arabic numerals, exposed pendulum and two dancing cherub supporters, on alabaster base. 26cm high approx. complete with key and pendulum.
