A set of four Samson porcelain Meissen style figures, late 19th Century, possibly representing the Elements, the first modelled as a soldier carrying a shield and sword, the second a maiden with an upturned amphora, the third a maiden with a peacock and a lizard, the fourth a maiden with a cornucopia of fruit, a globe and a lion, each raised on a gilt scroll enriched circular base, underglaze blue marks to bases with incised numerals, height approx 27cm (minor faults and restoration).

(31.75cm.), crack to inside of neck, together with two silver mounted cut glass dressing table jars, a silver handled orange knife, an Indian white metal sugar basin, a Continental silver seal and two others. Figure allégorique masculine d`après l`antique en terre cuite ; sur un contre socle de marbre gris Sainte-Anne., Par Etienne-Jules Ramey (1796-1852), signée et datée à Rome 1819 , Hauteur totale : 21 cm - , Hauteur de la figure : 18 cm, (Sous un globe), Ramey réalisa cette esquisse en terre cuite lors de son séjour à Rome entre 1815 et 1820. Assez proche de l`Antinoüs du Capitole, il s`agit probablement d`une interprétation de la célèbre sculpture antique visible, à Rome à cette époque.

November 1954`, these include a sestertius of Divia Faustina, reverse:- Aeternitas, holding phoenix on globe, Sear 4607, has been lacquered but is F, a ditto but of Gordian III, reduced, reverse:- Laetitia, Sear 8712, GF, a ditto but of Trajan Decius again reduced, reverse:- Genius, Sear 9405, GF/NVF, these together with others one of which looks an old cast forgery, Poor to NVF [14]
