TERRESTRIAL GLOBE signed and inscribed Newton`s New & Improved Terrestrial Globe, Published by Newton & Son, 66 Chancery Lane, London, made up of twelve coloured engraved gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac, the oceans with the tracks of Cook, Biscoe and others, the Antarctic with Enderby`s Land, the continents outlined in red and green and finely detailed with nation states in dotted outline, towns, cities, rivers and the Great Wall of China, contained within original fruitwood case with lid Ñ 4 1/2in. (11.5cm.) high
An orrery, 20th century, the brass sun superimposed to the centre with planets and moons geared on a single arm around the central axis, mounted on an ebonised base with domed clear plastic cover, 45cm diameter Note: the term orrery is a generic term for this type of instrument, named after Charles Boil, 4th Earl of Orrery, who had a planetary model made for him by John Rowley in 1712. Rowley had been influenced by a clockwork device constructed by Thomas Tompian and George Graham in around 1709, which had a small globe of the earth and an ivory moon to show the daily and annual motions around the sun.
A 19th Century Bronze Clock after Joseph Pollet (1814-1870), the movement striking a bell and stamped `Medaille d`Or, Paris`. The nude female figure titled `Une Heure de la Nuit` standing upon a globe studded with gilt stars amongst billowing clouds. The applied numerals centred by snake-form hands. The black marble elongated oval plinth having a moulded edge enriched with a beaded border and raised on knop feet. Bearing a metal plate on the underside with the inscription Etoile, Boulle Etoille 1856. 22¼ ins (56.5 cms) in height, 13½ (34 cms) in width, 6½ ins (16.5 cms) in depth.
A 19th Century Ormolu & White Marble Clock Set. The dial signed J.Vicat, Palma, enclosed by a bevelled glass door and surmounted by a globe, compass & rule. The movement flanked by seated cherubs reading astrological books above the marble breakfront base 14½ ins (37 cms) in height, 19 ins (49 cms) in width, 6 ins (15 cms) in depth. The four branch candelabra held aloft by winged cherubs.
A 19th Century Ormolu Clock Set. The dial painted onto a large turquoise `Sèvres` porcelain globe centred by a painted angel and bordered by ornamental stylised gilt-work foliage with bejewelled red & pearl enamels. The surmounting gilt bronze bird and flanking female heads rising above the central pedestal inset with painted porcelain plaques. The base adorned with groups of musical instruments and a rayed face mask centring laurel festoons. Raised on scroll & pedestal feet and measuring 20 ins (51 cms) in height, 14½ ins (37 cms) in width. The two lidded urns enriched with figural scenes & scroll form handles, raised on pedestal bases; 12½ ins (32 cms) in height.
A pair of 19th Century Continental scent bottles of globe and shaft form with spherical stoppers decorated with pink trailed collars to the neck and gilded foliate detail over the opaque white ground, height 16 cm, together with a similar period example cased in pink over opal interior with gilded arches with climbing plants, height 14 ccm S/D.

A pair of 19th Century Bohemian spirit flasks of footed compressed globe and shaft form with applied loop handles and pewter mounts, hand enamelled with an armourial crest over green ground, height 19 cm, together with eight small loop handle shot glasses, a later flared ale glass with applied prunt decoration and a similar smaller example.
A late 19th Century French drinks suite by F. S. Imberton comprising globe and shaft decanter with silver hinged domed cover together with a set of six shot glasses with a swept foot rising to a flared conical form bowl. The set hand enamelled with classical stylised acanthus leaves, foliate scrolls and face masks within repeat borders all to a sea green ground, decanter 30 cm tall. ILLUSTRATED
A late 19th Century Stourbridge glass claret jug possibly Thomas Webb & Sons with a domed circular foot rising to a compressed globe and shaft flask form body with applied hollow blown hand and integral spout below spherical stopper, the whole polished intaglio cut with a peace of dove holding a laurel garland to one side with a bundle of weapons and armour to the opposing side all below classical repeat borders, unmarked, height 29.5 cm. ILLUSTRATED
