The leonina was a gold coin minted by Pope Leo XII; it was worth 2 zecchini or 4.31 scudi of Gregory XVI (at observe: the coat of arms of Pope Leo XII; at reverse: the Church sitting on a globe and grasping the cross in her left hand and a chalice in her right one). The text begins with: La Santità di Nostro Signore papa Leone XII felicemente regnante [...]. Signer and date at bottom. Pietro Francesco Galleffi (Galeffi) (1770–1837) was an Italian Cardinal. During the Napoleonic period, in 1798, he was expelled from Rome. He was created Cardinal in 1803. Then he was archbishop of Damasco in 1819, Archpriest of St. Peter's Basilica from 1820, Bishop of Albano in 1820, Bishop of Porto and Santa Rufina in 1830, Camerlengo from 1824 to 1837. References: The document is not in ICCU, which quotes this notification in the form of a poster (ICCU\RMLE\033002, a copy registered in the Biblioteca universitaria Alessandrina, Rome); not in OCLC: no other copy worldwide. Apparently the only extant copy worldwide.   Rare traces of use, a light vertical ply on the whole document; untrimmed leaves. A very good copy.
