Property from a Private Collection, UKTo be Sold with No ReserveA Sasanian silver-gilt plate with a ruler on horseback, 6th-7th century and later, with added later inscription identifying the ruler as "Māhōy", of shallow form, engraved to centre well with a ruler on horseback the riding a horse at flying gallop to right, the king wearing a crown in the form of a winged eagle surmounted with a globe, with three rippling streamers flying out behind, wearing a chest halter over a belted tunic, and trousers with pleated edging, the horse wearing a harness ornamented with large bosses, its tail elaborately tied, the reverse fluted, 19.2 cm, 273 gr.Provenance: Private Collection UK. Accompanied by metallurgy report by Dr Pieter Meyers.Dr. Oktor Skjærvø, Aga Khan Professor of Iranian Studies, Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, Harvard University has identified the added short inscription above the man on the horse to be in Middle Persian.Main text: mtrý Y plhwý tyhzÒt Y L mtrÒn = mihr farrox T¹xz¡d man mihr¡n Fortunate friendship, T¹xz¡d, of my friendships, i.e. T¹xz¡d is the favorite one. To be Sold without ReserveTwo Safavid illustrations from `Abd al-Rahman al-Sufi's (d. 986AD), Kitab Suwar al-Kawakib al-Thabita (Book of the images of the fixed stars), the constellations of Scorpio and Gemini, Timurid or Safavid Persia, 15th-16th century, ink and opaque pigments on paper, rebacked, each with lines of text in black and red in above, Scorio depicted as a horse with two heads, Gemini as two youths, painting 18 x 12cm., folio 28.1 x 22.2cm. (2)Footnotes: Al-Sufi’s Book of Fixed Stars was a 10th-century astronomical treatise that expanded and updated Ptolemy’s Almagest, integrating it with the rich star lore and nomenclature of the anwa' the pre-Islamic tradition. The manual described 48 constellations, each with a star chart and two depictions; as seen on a celestial globe and as it appears in the heavens. The two present folios show the constellations as they appear in the sky.
Peles Own Signed Football Pennant: 1958 World Cup enamel and cloth pennant stuck to cloth and board and signed in full signature by Pele and from his own collection. Features a hand drawn image of him and a world globe with the words that mean pride of Brazil. Originally purchased in 2016 at Juliens auction lot 261 when Pele sold all his items.

America.- Moll (Herman) A New and Exact Map of the Dominions of the King of Great Britain on ye Continent of North America, important early map of North America showing the region of Newfoundland south to St. John's River, with title upper centre and inset maps of the Gulf of Florida, 'A Map of the Improved Part of Carolina', 'A Map of the Principal Part of North America', and another of '...ye Town and Harbour of Charles-Town', however the map is missing the "Beaver" inset vignette view found at the centre right, engraved map with original outline hand-colouring, on two sheets not joined, the "Beaver" vignette view carefully removed, each sheet approx. 520 x 610 mm (20 1/2 x 24 in), old folds with repairs to splitting verso, handling creases, nicks and tears, slightly rough edges, some surface dirt and browning, unframed, Printed and Sold by Tho: Bowles next ye Chapter House in St. Paul's Church-yard, John Bowles at the Black Horse in Cornhill, and by I. King at ye Globe in ye Poultrey near Stocks Market, 1715 [but circa 1731]⁂ One of the earliest and most important maps to show emerging boundary disputes between the French and British Colonies in North America.
