A good post 1953 example comprising a crowned domed gilt metal disc mounted with silvered figure of Mercury atop the globe resting on bi-part scroll inscribed “Certa Cito”. Crowned star mounted with laurel wreath joined at the top by a scroll inscribed “Gibraltar; fouled anchor to the junction below. Within the wreath, a pierced strap inscribed “Per Mare Per Terram” on blue enamel ground. To the centre, a silver globe in relief. Mounted beneath the wreath, a silver strung bugle. Three loops to reverse (two old replacements). VGC

(60cm.)
A RARE POCKET COMPASS SUNDIAL BY JOHN FOWLER, CIRCA 1730 constructed in engraved brass with black wax filling, folding gnomon, blued-steel needle, signed J Fowler fecit between 'III' and 'VIII', complete with lid -- 2 5/8in. (6.7cm.) diam John Fowler worked between 1721 and 1750 from The Globe, Sweeting's Alley by the Royal Exchange, London, and specialised in sundials and compasses.
A PAIR OF 9IN.TERRESTRIAL AND CELESTIAL TABLE GLOBES BY NEWTON & SON, CHANCERY LANE, LONDON, CIRCA 1857-65 celestial globe signed in the cartouche NEWTON'S IMPROVED CELESTIAL GLOBE / 66 CHANCERY LANE, the constellations shown include the original 48 proposed by Claudius Ptolomey plus, in the southern hemisphere, the later ones found and introduced 18th-century, such as Telescopium, the Artist's Easel, the Pendulum Clock and the Octant, the globes mounted in a brass half circle, divided from 0° to 90° and numbered every ten degrees, on turned mahogany pillar support with circular base, overall height — 14.5in. (37cm.) Newton & Son, globe makers, are recorded as working at 66 Chancery Lane between 1841 and 1883. See Clifton, Gloria, Directory of British Scientific Instrument Makers 1550-1851.

BERTAUX, PARIS, CIRCA 1890 comprising 12 coloured gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees, hours and minutes, the meridian of Paris graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, the Antarctic with little detail beyond Enderby's Land and Wilke's Land, the stamped brass hour dial, with engraved brass meridian half-circle, mounted on a tapered wooden column and plinth base -- 19½in. (49.5cm.) high

Andy Serkis signed 16 x 12 inch colour King Kong photo. English film actor, director and author. He is best known for his performance capture roles comprising motion capture acting, animation and voice work for such computer-generated characters as: Gollum in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001-2003) and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), King Kong in the eponymous 2005 film, Caesar in Rise (2011) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), and Captain Haddock in Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin (2011). Upcoming motion capture roles include playing Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), and Baloo in Jungle Book: Origins (2017). Serkis' film work in motion capture has been critically acclaimed, and he has been called the godfather of motion capture. Serkis has received an Empire Award, a National Board of Review Award, two Saturn Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his motion capture work. Serkis also earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for his portrayal of serial killer Ian Brady in the British television film Longford (2006); and he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for his portrayal of new wave and punk rock musician Ian Dury in the biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010). In 2015, he had a small role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Serkis has his own motion capture workshop, The Imaginarium Studios in London, and is set to use the technology with his directing debut, Jungle Book: Origins, in 2017. [Good condition
