A Liverpool, Seth Pennington sauce boat, c.1785-1795, painted with floral sprays, length 19.7cm and a John or Seth Pennington sugar bowl, c.1785-1795, decorated in the "Pansy" pattern, diameter 12.4cm (2). The sauce boat can be shape referenced on page 411 and the sugar bowl can be referenced on page 448 of Maurice Hillis Liverpool Porcelain. CONDITION REPORT Sauce boat has a firing flaw where the upper handle meets the body of the sauce boat but this is in manufacturing, otherwise OK. The bowl has some light surface scratches to the interior, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.

For pattern reference please see page 428 and 429 of Maurice Hillis Liverpool Porcelain. CONDITION REPORT Saucer has two or three minute chips to the foot rim but otherwise OK. Some minor staining to the edge of the sugar bowl and has two hairline cracks which means it does not ring true. The tea bowl is in good condition.

Saucers - one finely crazed to underside, one with wide crazing to underside, handling wear and flecked paint losses particularly to extremities. Cans - one with fine crazing to interior, one with mid-level crazing, one with wide crazing, small flecked losses to exteriors. Sugar bowl - interior heavily discoloured and with fine crazing throughout, long vertical hairline crack top to bottom, flecked paint losses. Cream jug - wide crazing to interior, flecked paint losses particularly to extremities.
