A Victorian silver three piece tea service, Charles Reily and George Storer, London 1842, each piece of compressed melon form and with acanthus leaf detail, silver gilt interiors, the teapot with floral finial and cast acanthus handles, raised on scroll bracket feet, teapot 18cm high, gross weight 50.3ozt (3) CONDITION REPORT: Exterior showing some signs of wear commensurate with age. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but still legible. Would need a clean. Gilt interior still good. Milk jug does have a slight wobble when placed on a flat surface. Sugar bowl has two dents to two lobes.

A good and heavy three-piece George IV period Tea Service comprising Teapot, two-handled Sugar and Cream Jug, each with acanthus style cast handle and elaborate floral decoration in repoussé style, each on four foliate cast legs, the Sugar and Cream Jug with gilded interiors, vacant cartouche, makers mark HH (for Hyam Hyams), assayed London 1824, the Teapot width (from tip to spout to end of handle) 28cm, total weight of three items approx. 1,470g CONDITION REPORT: The teapot is finial present but has the wing nut missing, there is a 3cm scratch to the edge of the domed lid near to the hinge, the repousse decoration appears in good order, the ivory insulators to the handle have cracks and a small chip, the base of the handle near the isolator has a small solder reparation, the marks are clear and well struck, overall the teapot appears in good order with minor surface wear, scratches and very small dents etc., the sugar bowl repousse decoration is in good order, the gilt interior of the bowl has multiple dents and scratches commensurate with age and use, the hallmarks are clear and well struck, the sugar bowl with minor surface scratches and dents commensurate with age, the cream jug repousse decoration appears in good order, the vacant cartouche on both sides of the milk jug have central dents possibly indicating the removal of an engraving, the milk jug handle has an old reparation to the acanthus leaf decoration (handle split and soldered), surface scratches and minor wear and tear commensurate with age and use (see images). All hallmarks are matching.
