A SÈVRES BLEU LAPIS SUGAR BOWL AND COVER (POT A SUCRE `CALABRE`) painted by Antoine-Joseph Chappuis with birds in branches or on the ground before landscapes in cisélé gilt leafy scrolling kidney shaped panels, the domed cover with flower knop, gilt dentil rim, 11cm h, painted interlaced Ls enclosing the date letter K for 1763 and painter`s initials cp in blue Provenance: An English private collection since the late 19th century. Bowl - old light glaze scratches; gilding on the rim worn, gilding around the footrim nearly all worn off. Cover - one of the leaves of the knop missing, another with tiny chip. Two old filled rim chips. No recent or `professional` restoration or regilding.
A SÈVRES BLEU LAPIS DEJEUNER painted by Edmé-Francois Bouillat with one or pairs of panels of garden landscapes, several with birds, that to the tray with Cupid`s quiver and billing doves before an alter to love, one of those to the teapot including a snake, others with a waterfall, fountain or temple in oval, kidney shaped or wavy octagonal gilt cisélé frame and border of festoons and scrolling foliage and rim, dentilated on the inside or exterior, comprising teapot and cover with fruit knop, Théière `Calabre` et couvercle of the fifth size, 10.5cm h, sugar bowl and cover with fruit knop, pot à sucre `Bouret`, milk jug, pot à lait `a trois pieds`, cup and saucer, gobelet `litron` et soucoupe and tray, plateau `octogone`, tray 24.5cm w, incised 41or 15, painted interlaced Ls between the date letters KK for 1787 and painter`s mark Y in blue (8) Provenance: An English private collection since the late 19th century. In fine condition except: cover of teapot - tiny chip on flange, not normally visible. Cup - old restoration with on the interior old discoloured and flaking cream paint to disguise the same (handle undamaged). Sugar bowl - pinhead sized flat nick on the foot rim, the cover with a chip on the flange, not normally visible. No recent or `professional` restoration or regilding etc.
