A Japanese eggshell part tea service together with two blue and white prunus decorated ginger jars and a matching vase CONDITION REPORTS Larger ginger jar is completely broken and has been badly re-glued. Smaller ginger jar in need of a good clean and has a chip to the lid inside. Vase has a large hairline crack running down the neck from the rim. All three have firing faults etc, some surface scratches and are in need of a good clean. The eggshell tea service - tea pot is missing lid, milk jug has a crack running down the spout and a chip to the top of the spout. Five of the cups have either repairs or hairline fractures or chips to the rims. The slop bowl/sugar bowl has several cracks running through it throughout. Three saucers have large chips and hairline cracks and six tea plates have chips and hairline cracks. All items have general wear and tear to include some wear to the gilding and paintwork etc - see images for examples

An impressive Victorian hallmarked silver four-piece tea set in the Gothic style, comprising coffee pot, height 34cm, teapot, height 26cm, sugar bowl, height 16.5cm and milk jug, height 15cm, height each piece of tall hexagonal shape, with urn finials, bell-shaped lids, straight and angular handles, Rococo-style spouts adorned with acanthus leaves, each panel decorated with floral scrolls and columns, the front panel with engraved crest of upright arm holding a cross, the lower panels with possible folklore scenes, to include a boy with bow and arrow, a mythical bird, a fox in woodland, on a hexagonal base, the sugar bowl and milk jug with gilt interiors, London 1844, with sponsor's mark 'J.A' over 'J.A', also marked 'J. Mayer Goldsmith, 68 Lord Street, Liverpool', combined approx 86.5ozt (4).Footnote: The teapot and coffee pot both have two ivory spacers to each handle. The ivory has been declared, with reference numbers 2A17YC5N for the coffee pot and JQ1NRL82 for the teapot. CONDITION REPORT: This has been looked after by the generations of the vendor's family. There are no obvious repairs or damage. The handle on the teapot is a little loose. There may be some slight indents, dimples and surface scratches, but the decoration hides most of these.
