A fine Indian silver covered sugar bowl, unmarked, Cutch, late 19th century, squat circular on three elephant supports upon a triform base, profusely chased with scrolling foliage incorporating a small vacant escutcheon, all on a textured ground, the conforming pull-off cover with bird finial, 17.5 cm high, 12.7 cm. diameter, wt. 820 gm.In good condition with crisp chasing.
A Victorian silver four-piece tea and coffee set by Robert Hennell, London, 1865, baluster form, chased with panels of geometric scrollwork and foliage on simulated shagreen ground, undulating rims, acanthus-capped scroll handles with beaded rat-tails, the scroll feet terminating in leaf junctions, gilt interior to sugar bowl and milk jug, ivory insulators, coffee pot 26 cm. high, wt. 2569 gm.A good crisp teaset with good marks, no initials or crests, two small dings to body of milk jug, small ding to lower body of teapot on one side just above base, couple of bruises to sides of coffee pot but nothing serious and all could be put right by a silversmith
A Victorian Scottish silver three-piece teaset by Walker Crichton, Edinburgh, 1844, octagonal on conforming bases, engraved with scrolling foliage and flowers between flutes and incorporating vacant cartouches, gilt interiors to milk jug and sugar bowl, teapot with ivory insulators, 23 cm. high, wt. 1709 gm.Good condition, no bruises, cartouches are solid and appear never to have been engraved, no crests or initials.
