A George II silver circular sugar bowl, maker's mark over-struck by town mark, London 1740, the moulded rim with a rebate, on a circular moulded foot, 11cm (4 i/4in) diameter, 178g (5.75 oz) The partial maker's mark could well by for John Fossey, which is recorded as Grimwade 1310, with an unusual waved outline punch as here.
