A set of four Georgian Scottish Provincial silver toddy ladles, by Robert Keay I, Perth, circa 1800, with circular bowl, simple stems, the tip each engraved with an initial, gross weight 2.6ozt (4) 15cm (6in) Other Notes: Toddy was traditionally a Scottish hot drink made from a mixture of whisky, hot water, honey or sugar, spices such as cinnamon and cloves, and lemon juice. Usually served in a large communal bowl, individual ladles were used to scoop warm servings of hot toddy into cups. Marked with sponsor mark, duty mark and thistle only. 3 are in good condition with only very minor distortion of the bowl, the fourth is in poorer condition, with a slightly bent stem and bruising and distortion to the bowl.
An Art Nouveau style silver three piece tea set, by Pearce & Sons, London 1920, the teapot of circular form, raised on a pedestal foot, the sides split into four panels by applied reeded borders, the centre of one engraved with initials, the flush fitting cover topped with a wooden finial and with matching handle with foliate terminals, the undulating border in symmetry with the side panels, and with sugar bowl and milk jug to match, 40.5ozt gross (3) Overall in good condition with no signs of damage or repair
An Art Déco style silver three piece tea set with hot water jug en suite, the tea pot by Thomas Bishton, Birmingham 1934, of plain rectangular form with canted corners, the flush fitting cover topped with a brown finial to match the simple handle, with milk jug and sugar bowl to match, all monogrammed, the hot water jug by James Dixon & Son, Sheffield 1934, jubilee marked, rather bulbous but following the same line as the tea set, raised on four splayed feet, stamped on the underside 'D1798' 59ozt gross (4) slight ding to the hot water jug, but otherwise in excellent condition
