A George III Silver Swing Handled Sugar Basket, mark probably that of William Plummer, London 1778, vase shaped with bead borders, the sides pierced and engraved with wavy line decoration, openwork handle, engraved with a shell crest, 11.5cm high excluding handle, 5oz 14dwt Marked to the bowl below piercing. Maker's mark partically rubbed other marks with light wear. Piercing all appears intact. A large blob of solder to the interior base of the bowl, but there does not appear to have been any repair. Blue glass liner intact.
