He inherited his title at the death of his father also Nathaniel CURZON (1726-1804) the 1st Baron. His mother was Lady Caroline COLYEAR daughter of Charles COLYEAR (1700-1785) 2nd Earl of Portmore. In 1777 he married Sophia-Susanna NOEL daughter of Edward NOEL (1715-1774) who was created Viscount Wentworth in 1762. Before inheriting the title of Baron he was MP for Derbyshire. The family seat was Kedleston Hall, Derbyshire.
