A three piece Chinese silver tea set, the teapot of squat round form decorated with birds on prunus blossom set branches, raised on a circular foot, 12 cm high, together with matching milk jug and twin-handled sugar bowl, stamped "LUENWO Shanghai" to base with Chinese characters, approx 27.3 oz total weight, CONDITION REPORTS The teapot has a dent to the lid and a dent to the top of the finial. All over light scratches and small dents. The ivory on the handle is cracked. Handle is not perpendicular to the teapot and is bending round slightly. Foot is not circular.Sugar bowl has dents to the base and scratches to the body. Some small dents to the body.Cream jug has dents to the spout and scratches to the body. Small shallow dents.All items with various general signs of wear and tear throughout conducive with age and use.
A Chinese silver three piece tea set, the tapered cylindrical teapot set with prunus blossom and bird applied decoration, the handle is in the form of a piece of bamboo with matching milk jug and twin-handled sugar bowl, 15.5 cm high, total approx 35.5 oz CONDITION REPORTS Teapot - hinge very stiff andf slightly buckled out of shape. Light scratches and discolouration throughout. The base appears to have pushed inwards. There is a dark mark to the base suggesting possibly a split with corresponding mark to the interior. The sugar basin and the cream jug handles differ in soldering to the body suggesting possibly the handle has been resoldered on the cream jug. Both items have various light scratches, the cream jug lip has been dented. All items slight knocks, scratches and general small signs of wear and tear throughout. A Victorian silver and embossed four piece tea set comprising teapot, hot water jug, twin-handled sugar basin and cream jug (William Hunter, London 1864), approx 76.6 oz total, housed in an oak fitted case bearing label to interior "Mappin & Webb No. 76, 77 and 78 Oxford Street W London ...." and brass plaque to top inscribed "Jane W Henry 6th October 1871" CONDITION REPORTS Box in used condition with many scratches, dents, shrinkage betwen sections, felt to interior worn. Tea set in good condition though in need of a good clean. Ivory beads to the two larger pieces, all with various discolouration and cracks - see images for further detail. The box shows significant signs of wear and tear, scratches, scuffs, marks, cho]ips, signs of warping etc throughout. All over considerable wear and tear, the paper label to the inside is somewhat tatty, has some grey marks.v The hot water pot has light scratches throughout to the body, the ivory rings are both cracked with splits. Slight shallow dents. Teapot has slight scratches throughout to the body. The teapot has light scratches throughout to the body. Lid is slightly wobbly. Some dents including one to the top section, some small dents underneath. Cracks and splits to the ivory finials. A large dent to the handle. Teapot is very wobbly when on a flat surface. The sugar bowl has some damage to one handle which is bent slightly out of alignment and shape. Some various knocks and dents to it also. All over various light scratches. Some small dents to the bottom of the basin and some wear to the gilt interior. Wobbles slightly when upon a flat surface. The cream jug has light scratches throughout. Some shallow dents to the body, both back feet have the appearance of being pushed up into the body. General small signs of wear and tear and some wear to the gilt interior. There is also a dent to the front of the cream jug. All silver items have general signs of wear and tear including surface scratches, small minor dents etc. There is one compartment in the box which is empty - this was possibly for a tea caddy but is no longer present.
