Lot 59

An Edwardian enamelled glass bowl and cover. Diameter 19.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The knop and upper surface of the lid and edge are all in good condition. The bottom lip of the top which fits in to the base has several small edge nibbles and one small chip. These are not problematic. The base of the piece has a gilt rim. This rim has had a small break approximately 1 cm in length and .5 cm deep on the rim which has been reglued and overpainted with a soft gilt paint. There is one further outer edge chip which has also been overpainted. The gilt rim is generally rubbed. The main body of the piece is in good condition as is the base.

Lot 129

A cut glass toilet jug and basin. CONDITION REPORT: The jug has two minor flea bites towards the spout the bowl has a very small chip to the rim but this is smooth.

Lot 155

A collection of cranberry flash glass, six champagne cups, six wine glasses and rinsing bowl. CONDITION REPORT: One of the shorter glasses has a chip to the foot approximately 5 m square. The bowl also has a chip to the rim. One of the flutes has two chips to the rim and another has a large chip to the foot of approximately 5 mm.

Lot 200

A Venetian glass bowl, circa 1930, green and with gilt flecks. Length 16.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This bowl is in generally good condition with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. We can see no significant scratches. The base has numerous minor surface scratches and very small nibbles around the edge of the foot rim only one of which could be considered to be a very small chip. In our opinion this is not significant.

(24cm.) high. * Condition: Three small chips to inside edge of bowl to stem mount. Expected scratching to base and top of stem from use.

A Victorian mahogany watercolour artists box, made by J.Newman, circa 1870s, rectangular mahogany box, hinged lid lifting to reveal the underside bears a green paper pastedown, decorated with a gilt diamond form name motif reading 'Newman, Soho Square 24 London' within a thick set circular band with centralised Prince of Wales feathers and heraldic motifs to corners, two royal ciphers to upper corners of pastedown, interior of lower section containing a lift out section to the rear containing sixteen different colour paint blocks embossed with the Newman and co name to front and Prince of Wales feathers to verso, when lifted a compartment is revealed to house six white ceramic circular palette plates, central section with three compartments, the left housing a tin box containing pastels, a liftable centralised section with white ceramic three division mixing palette and to the right a cut glass water bowl, front section is an open deposit containing pens, brushes etc, shallow pin release drawer to lower front, 10½w x 8¼d x 3¼h in. (26.7 x 21 x 8.3cm.), together with a second example shallow rectangular form in mahogany hinged lid with paste-down label to interior reading 'C.E. Clifford, Artists Colourman 30, Piccadilly London' vacant interior above single drawer with brass recessed handle, 9w x 7d x 3h in. (22.8 x 17.7 x 7.6cm.). (2)

Lot 196

A Norwegian silver gilt and plique à jour spoon, circa 1920, barley twist stem with floral and foliate terminal to a filigree work bowl with conforming holly-leaf, berry and hare bell decoration, the outer rim with a border of blue and green enamel circles, unmarked, 7in. (17.8cm.) long. * Condition: Two tiny cracks to one flower petal on terminal. Tiny cracks visible under a glass throughout to the clear and sky blue glass to bowl. These are probably from the making.

Lot 82

An 18th century Continental large wine glass, the trumpet bowl with foliate and fruit etching within a foliate reserve, on spiral fluted stem, to fold over foot with pontil, 18.8cm. high. * Condition: Sulphur spot to edge of base from the making. Crescent shaped opaque flaw to top of foot from the making when pontil cut. No chips or cracks.

Lot 83

An 18th century Continental large wine glass, the elongated bell bowl with seven bubbles to base, etched with a leaping stag beneath text, a flower verso, on hollow inverted baluster stem, the fold over foot with pontil, 18.9cm. high. * Condition: In good condition, with no chips or cracks.

Lot 84

A late 18th century Waterford cut glass turnover bowl, c.1800, circular with hobnail diamond and blaze cut rim, star cut base, 10in. (25.5cm.) diameter. * Condition: Some light scratching to base from use - commensurate with age. No chips or cracks. 

Lot 85

An 18th century Continental footed cut glass bowl or vase, probably Dutch, the deep cup shaped bowl with cut floral rosette decoration and applied reeded banded base, onto a spreading stem with conforming cut decoration and wide integral folded foot, 10¼in. (26cm.) high. * Condition: Very good condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. Some scratching to underside of foot rim from use. 

Lot 86

An 18th century Continental gilded wine glass, the ovoid bowl with gilded wheel cut decoration of a leaping horse and tress below the word 'Vivat', on bladed inverted baluster stem, on a domed fold over foot, 15cm. high. * Condition: Miniscule flake to interior of rim. Minor gilt wear. No other damage.

Lot 89

A pair of cut glass celery vases, mid-19th century, campana form with scalloped rims, the exteriors with printie cut decoration, on panel cut baluster stems an star cut bases, 9½in. (24.1cm.) high. (2) * Condition: Scratching to edge of base from use. One bowl with horizontal scratches to inside (probably from cleaning).  No chips or cracks - good condition overall.

Lot 90

A fine quality cut glass tazza, early 20th century, the wide shallow bowl with 'saw tooth' cut decoration to outer rim, on an inverted baluster stem and star cut base, 12in. (30.5cm.) diameter, 8 1/8in. (20.7cm.) high. * Condition: Small (2mm.) chip to rim. Some deep scratches to top of base. 

Lot 93

A mid-18th century champagne or sweetmeat glass, circa 1730-50, double ogee bowl on eight sided pedestal stem above collar, domed and folded foot, 17cm. high, * See L. M. Bickerton (1987), p.132, no.317 for a similar example. Good condition - no damage noted. 

Lot 100

A Val St Lambert Danse de Flores etched glass vase, 20th century, of oversized goblet form, the large bucket bowl with pourer to rim, decorated with a central band of gilt dancing classical figures on a frosted ground, on knopped stem and plain foot with gilt edge, etched factory mark to base, remains of paper label to bowl, 10½in. (26.75cm.) high. * Condition: Excellent condition, with no defects.

Lot 101

A fine quality American cut glass tazza by Hawkes, early 20th century, patented 'Willow' pattern, with toothed, scalloped rim to the flared bowl, cut with an interlinked trellis pattern on a rosette cut ground, on a substantial hexagonal knopped stem to a scalloped, rosette and lozenge cut foot, 11½in. (32cm.) diameter, 9¼in. (23.5cm.) high. * Condition: One small chip and a few tiny frits to rim. Some light scratches to base, one tiny chip to tip of one lozenge cut and one shallow flake from another. No damage to stem. Unsigned.

Lot 102

A rare Moser intaglio cut and pad cameo hock glass, c.1890, the cup shaped bowl with shaded acid green tint, decorated with a dark green applied 'pad cameo' lily flower and an intaglio cut lily flower and foliage, the slender baluster stem and domed foot with similar cut decoration, 22cm. high. * Condition: Bowl in very good condition, with no damage. The foot with four tiny chips to the edge and a couple of other tiny frits.  

Lot 103

A René Lalique glass Vernon pattern bowl, circa 1928, opalescent glass with six embossed floral heads to exterior, moulded mark 'R. Lalique. France' and etched with pattern number 'N395', 8½in. (21.6cm.) diameter. * Condition: A few light, minor scratches to glass. Otherwise good with no chips or cracks.
