William Cooper may have caused this glass to be engraved having won bets on him in 1816. It was in this year that the Duke's niece, Princess Charlotte, married Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfield.

The ring moulded glass so distinctive to this ware house were made from 1750-80.There have been suggestions that they were retailed from this ware house but made elsewhere, even at Great Yarmouth.
