A Set of Four George III Silver Salt-Cellars and Spoons, by Hester Bateman, London, 1782, each oval and on ball and claw feet, the sides pierced and engraved with foliage scrolls, with associated blue glass liners, the spoons each with shell-shaped bowl, the salt-cellars 81mm diameter (8)The salt-cellars each fully marked on base. The spoons each part marked on back of handle. There is some wear to the marks but in general each is legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. Some feet have been repaired. The blue glass liners with some minor chips. Perhaps later. Weight of silver 236gr.
