A group of assorted presentation glassware 20th century, each with engraved dedication to Sir Yehudi Menuhin, including: a Nuutajarvi red glass and iridescent seagull, by Oiva Toikka; a clear glass decanter and stopper; a goblet; two glasses; a footed bowl; and a cut-glass rose bowl; together with a large circular bowl, engraved with fruiting vine; a plain liqueur glass; and a white metal presentation label engraved marks decanter and stopper 26.7cm., 10.5in. high small chip to rim of large circular bowl (11) The dedications include those relating to the following events: Bath Festival, 1966; First Newcastle Festival, October 1969; Harrogate International Festival, May 1989; 75th Birthday Concert in Glasgow; Windsor Festival.The proceeds of this lot will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross, Geneva.
AN EARLY VICTORIAN BLONDE TORTOISESHELL VENEERED AND MOTHER OF PEARL INLAID TEA CADDY of sarcophagus shape, the hinged top and front decorated with birds amidst flowers and foliage, the interior with lidded compartment and cut glass blending bowl, having turned columns to the corners, on ivory ball-shaped feet, 23.5cm (91/4in) wide.
A CIRCULAR CRANBERRY BOWL AND COVER the bowl with a flared rim, the domed cover with a clear glass finial, 15cm diameter, also a cranberry glass and gilt metal swing handled basket decorated with fruiting vine, 11cm diameter and a cranberry ewer with a reeded clear glass handle and tear shaped stopper, 18cm high (3).
A Victorian centrepiece,, the three light candelabrum formed of vines hung with bunches of grapes and supporting a cut glass bowl, on fluted triform base with volute feet, 68cm h overall, by Edward Barnard & Sons, London 1862, with a contemporary fourth matching sconce, by Thomas Bradbury & Sons, 100 ozs, g (3). In overall excellent condition with the original glass bowl which also appears to be in very good condition, the marks well preserved, save those on the base adjacent to the one vacant cartouche from which an inscription or crest has probably been erased but without apparent loss or damage
A George III wine glass, the dimpled and partly fluted ogee bowl on a double series opaque twist stem and conical foot, 14. 5cm h; a similar wine glass (2) . First item - a few very small nicks around the foot. Second item - a flat chip on the underside of the edge of the foot, no other damage, grinding down or restoration
