Event andAllister, whom visitors will recall was wearing a celebratory bow tie at the time, actually took the veryfirst gather from the furnace to produce it. So the provenance is beyond question. Allister has alsoengraved the base accordingly, which make the piece unique.Allister Malcolm says: 'After all the hard work in establishing the new White House Cone - museumof glass I am delighted that this piece will be recorded in perpetuity as the first ever produced in thenew furnace. I hope that it comes to be seen as emblematic of what can be achieved by acombination of dedication, vision and, crucially, the tremendous support of the community in helpingus create this wonderful new facility for the benefit of all'.
