Lalique", by Felix Marcilhac, Les Editions de l'Amateur, p. 293, nº 383.Measurements: 21.5 cm (diameter); 5 cm (height).Centrepiece made entirely of opalescent, transparent and frosted glass, decorated with three Volubilis (Morning Glory) flowers on the front. It rests on three stems that act as feet. The mouth of the bowl is outlined in a yellowish hue.The Lalique firm was founded by René Jules Lalique (1860-1945), one of the most prominent glassmakers of the time, and one of the first to sculpt glass for large monumental works, such as the fountains on the Champs Elysées. Pieces by Lalique are preserved in leading museums such as the Corning Museum of Glass and the Metropolitan Museum of Glass in New York, the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, among many others.

Tin-plated metal foot.Signed "WMF B I/O AS".Measurements: 18 cm (height) x 8 cm (diameter).In this glass we see the main characteristics of Art Nouveau glass (Jugendstil in Central Europe): the organic and fluid shapes and the use of bronzes and metallic materials (in this case tinned metal) which are not simple ornaments but essential parts of the structure. Thus, we see a translucent enamelled bowl with floral decorations, raised on a foot with a synthesised plant design, typical of Central European modernism.WMF stands for Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik, which means Württemberg Metal Factory. The factory was established in 1880 in the small town of Geislingen on the river Steige, and was of great renown on the German scene in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
LOETZ biscuit tin. Austria, ca. 1920.Czech Bohemian crystal and silvered metal.Signed.Size: 24 x 14 x 14 cm.Biscuit tin with green glass bowl decorated with an organic design of iridescent veins. It has the mouth, handles and lid in silver-plated metal.The type of glass used in this centre can be related to the Austrian manufacturer Loetz, founded in 1840 and a pioneer in the use of new techniques and materials, following the experimental approach of the glass artists of the second half of the 19th century. The firm took part in the Paris International Exhibition of 1889, where its pieces were unanimously acclaimed by the critics.

Harry Powell (1853-1922) for James Powell & Sons'Roman' amber coloured decanter with stylised handle, circa 1908, pattern number 2091, unsigned, 20.5cm high, James Hogan (1883-1948) for Whitefriars amber glass bowl, unsigned, 27cm x 23cm x 7cm high and one other attributed to James Powell & Sons vaseline glass vase with flared rim, unsigned, 15.5cm high (3) Condition report: All with overall wear and scratches, particularly to the bases as expected. The decanter has a tiny crack where the strap handle was applied, this was done when made rather than since. Overall manufacturing faults, otherwise ok.

The pink cage vase with a small bruise on one side, very small, not much bigger than a pen nib size. No other damages.
