A Williamite engraved wine glass and three glasses with twist stems, circa 1740-65The first with a bell bowl probably later engraved with fruiting vine beneath the inscription THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF KING WILLIAM III/ BOYNE IULY/ 1ST 1690 and a formal border, on a plain teared stem, 15.5cm high, together with an airtwist flute, the tall bell bowl engraved with fruiting vine, 21cm high, an opaque twist wine with an engraved ogee bowl, 14.4cm high, and a double-series airtwist wine with a round funnel bowl, 15.4cm high (4)Footnotes:Whilst the engraving on the Williamite glass may be contemporary with the glass, it is possible that it was later engraved in the 19th century for one of the lodges of the Orange Order, founded in 1795. Franz Tieze engraved many glasses for this society. An 18th Century air twist engraved wine glass, circa 1770-90, the funnel bowl engraved with Jacobite flowers and a butterfly, the straight stem with double series air twist above a conical foot, 15cm high, together with an opaque twist wine glass of similar period, the ogee bowl engraved with Jacobite flowers and a bird, the straight stem with double series opaque twist on a conical foot, 14cm high (foot chipped). (2)Condition: The first - negligible signs of age. The second - two chips to foot edge.
An 18th Century opaque twist wine glass, circa 1790, the rounded funnel bowl engraved with sprigs and a diaper border to the rim, the plain stem with double series opaque twist around an opaque gauze above a conical foot, 13.5cm high, together with an opaque twist wine glass of similar period, the plain ogee bowl above a plain stem with multiple opaque twist around a corkscrew twist on a conical foot, 14cm high. (2)Condition: Minor/negligible signs of age to both.
A Worcester Queen Charlotte pattern milk jug and cover, sugar bowl and tea bowl, circa 1760, each with seal mark under, the jug 13.5cm high/Provenance: by repute Newby Hall, Yorkshire CONDITION REPORT: Tea bowl neatly repaired from two sections. Jug has small chip to rim issuing a hair crack and a tiny flake to glaze at spout tip. Cover of jug has lost finial and replaced with blue glass? Some wear to gilt generally.
An early 19th Century cut glass tureen and cover, a vase, a salad bowl, three decanters with stoppers and a celery glass CONDITION REPORT: Pair decanters 22.5cm high. Single decanter 26cm high. Thistle shaped vase marked Webb and with very minor chip to outer edge of rim. The cut glass items may have a few minor frits to facets but overall appearance is good. Some scratches to undersides.
