Three mid-18th century air twist wine glasses comprising: a wine glass with waisted bell bowl on shoulder and base knop, multi spiral air twist stem with a pair of heavy spiral threads outside a multi corkscrew, on conical foot, 18cm. high; an ale glass with elongated round funnel bowl on stem containing eight spiral threads outside gauze, on conical foot, 19cm. high; and a wine glass with bell bowl with flared basal flutes on multi spiral air twist stem, consisting of corkscrew spiral tape outside loose spiral gauze, conical foot, 15.5cm. high. (3) Condition: 1. Wine glass: Large chip and two small nibbles to foot. 2. Five small chips to foot. 3. Large chip and two nibbles to foot.
A mid-18th century air twist wine glass circa 1750, the round funnel bowl engraved with roses in bud and in flower and flying insect, multi spiral opaque air twist stem consisting of multi ply corkscrews outside spiral threads, on conical foot, 15cm. high. Condition: Good, with no damage or restoration noted.
Two mid-18th century air twist glasses circa 1750, the first a wine glass with ogee bowl on multi spiral opaque twist stem consisting of three spiral threads outside three spiral bands, conical foot, 15cm. high; the second an ale glass with very tall drawn funnel bowl with slightly everted rim, on multi spiral opaque twist stem consisting of spiral tapes outside two spiral bands, on conical foot, 21cm. high. A late-18th century ale glass circa 1770, the drawn funnel bowl with egg and dart decor to rim and basal panel cutting, on diamond facet stem and conical foot, 19.5cm. high.; together with an early 19th century ale glass, the drawn funnel bowl engraved with hops and barley, on plain stem and conical foot, 16cm. high. (2) Condition: 1. Facet cut ale: One large chip and one nibble to foot. 2. Engraved ale: Small chip to foot.
