No re polishing. Very minor flakes to some of the edges. Gilding with very minor wear.
A George III Silver Centrepiece, by William Burwash, London, 1813 on triangular base with three leaf-capped paw feet, each side applied with flower medallion, the circular bowl with egg and dart border and applied with fruiting grapevines, supported on three winged sphinx supports and with a central foliage and scroll finial, with an associated cut-glass bowl32cm wide, 33cm high,123oz 11dwt, 3,842grThe inscription reads 'To Walter Dale from Cap't E. Compton and his Family, a token of their gratitude for 50 years of loyal service, 1st Jan 1940'.Fully marked under base. Further part marked under central dish, on applied fruiting vines and on central final. The sphinxes have not been removed to see if they are also marked. There is some wear to the marks but in general each is legible. The marks underneath and under dish each with tape residue. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The glass bowl with some chips and scratches. The later wood support for the bowl cracked. There are no signs of any additions of change of use to the centrepiece but it may be lacking a further section and the glass bowl is later.
A German Silver Epergne Centrepiece Epergne, Maker's Mark a Lion Rampant, Probably for Gebrüder Deyhle, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Late 19th/Early 20th Century, 800 Standard the base spiral-fluted circular and on three openwork rocaille scroll feet, the stem baluster with three scroll branches, each with a gilt heightened blue glass bowl and with a further central bowl and capped with a tapering glass vase, with a palmette engraved terminalweight of silver 24oz 4dwt, 752gr, 56.5cm highMarked on edge of base. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some loss to the gilding on the glass.
A Victorian Silver Bowl, by Edward and John Barnard, London, 1862 tapering cylindrical and on four scroll feet, the sides pierced with scrolls and with a vacant cartouche on each side, with an overhead swing handle and conforming blue glass liner17cm high, 11.5cm diameter, weight of silver 9oz 19dwt, 309grFully marked underneath and further part marked on handle. There is some minor wear to the marks though in general they are still clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The cartouche on one side has possibly been erased. The rim of the blue glass liner has perhaps been polished down.
