An Edward VII hallmarked silver dressing table set comprising hand mirror, hairbrush (x 2), cloths brushes (x 2), comb (af), all with repousse decoration of a woman`s head inside a border of foliage, made by H Matthews Birmingham 1904-05 inside a Walker & Hall oak fitted case, together with four associated hallmarked silver clothes brushes (10).
A late 19th Century walnut-cased Symphonion timepiece, the upper section with turned finials, supports and roundels enclosing the Lenzkirch movement with a silvered dial with Arabic numerals, the lower section with a panelled door opening to reveal the brass comb stamped "Schutz-Marke" and numbered 280755, complete with a single 12" disc, some losses to the case, 59cm wide by 198cm high.
A rosewood and marquetry musical box, Etoffoirs en Acier, late 19th centry, the 13.25 inch pinned cylinder playing a choice of 12 airs via a steel comb (9 teeth lacking), the mechanism with double spring barrels and mounted on a gilt painted steel bed, beneath glazed cover with crank wind opposing start/stop and change/repeat levers, the lid applied with paper tune sheet for ETOFFOIRS en ACIER and numbered 807 in ink to inside, the top with marquetry musical trophy within line borders above grained front and sides, 63cm wide. Aberdeen - a Scottish provincial mounted horn cruet William Dunningham & Company, marked WD&Co, S, 925, comprising open mustard, pepperette and lidded salt, the flared cow horn formed body with simple mounts with silver covers etc, with horn salt and mustard spoons; together with a horn snuff box by the same maker Note: William Dunningham & Company, like many other companies in Aberdeen, made a large amount of mounted horn goods. This was due to the high demand for Scottish souvenirs from the booming tourist industry. Interestingly the horn was supplied from off-cuts and spares from the Aberdeen Comb Works. Their craftsman also helped make some of the more complex items.
