A Pair of Chinese Blue Glazed Stoneware Models of Cockerels, late 19th century, each spirited bird on openwork integral rockwork, raised on rococo revival scroll form plinths, on ormolu bases, 42cm and 44cm high overall Cockerel 1 - upper and lower beak chipped completely off, but half. Two claws on right foot chipped off. Some small flakes, grazes, firing cracks etc to the open rockwork. Bird currently detached. Cockerel 2 - two toes on left foot - one partly knocked off, the other restored, and rear claw tip also missing on same foot. Comb has cracked off and has been reglued. Most of lower beak missing and chip to main point of upper beak. Both ormolu bases heavily worn and possibly scrubbed with abrasive material. 020615
A Large Swiss Musical Box on Stand: a 19th century Swiss musical box on stand, the mechanism in a mahogany box with chequered stringing on a mahogany stand. The musical box plays 12 airs and has the undamaged playlist to the inside of the lid. The mechanism has six bells which are struck by several different insects. The comb has all of its teeth and the roller is intact H 23cm; W 58cm; D 30cm CONDITION REPORT: In good working order, with minor adjustments required to the bell strikers and the winding crank which has a slightly knarled cog. All the teeth have their tips. The box is in very good condition with no losses. The box is in very good condition with no losses, the stand is also undamaged.

Swiss musical box playing 10 airs on a 38cm barrel and single piece comb in rosewood veneered box with Picard-Lion tune sheet, case length 74cm. *See clocks and watches proviso. Condition report: NB the comb is in two parts not one; the mechanism runs to unwound and changes airs; we have not removed the damper bar to inspect the comb although there aren't any noticeable gaps in the music to indicate missing teeth. It is stamped 13 10243 at either end of the barrel. The air indicator needle generally remains static. The case has worm holes and the feet are mising; the printed decoration has some losses. All clocks and watches are sold without warranty. Comments regarding the going condition of clocks and watches relate to their state at the time of cataloguing and those comments may no-longer be correct at the time of sale or delivery. Buyers should assume that all lots will require servicing to be useable and reliable. Clocks and watches are not tested for accuracy, duration or water tightness.
