A 'BELLS IN SIGHT' MUSICAL BOX Swiss, late 19th century, the 18cm (7 1/18 inch) pinned cylinder set to a gilded steel bed, playing sixteen airs and flanked by a winding lever to one side, and stop / start and change / repeat levers to the other, the mechanism with butterfly hammers striking on three bells mounted sideways in a shallow pyramid, the lid interior with a printed and hand-written tune sheet, the grained and part ebonized case with boxwood stringing and transfer-printed decoration to the lid exterior, 23cm high, 49cm wide, 28.5cm deep. Condition Report : Mechanism working; comb with all teeth present; one hammer currently inoperative; case rubbed, with loss to grained finish. The crossbanded wooden case with box wood stringing and multi-wood inlays, having a lift-up lid and ebonised interior, the tune card titled 'Piccolo Zither' all white metal player, intact comb and rise and fall zither plate. 19cm x 69cm x 31cm (in working order) To lid and below the lock on the front panel: The Royal Arms, with the Latin “Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense meaning “ 'Evil unto him that thinks evil of it' and Dieu et mon droit, which means "God and my right", is the motto of the monarch of the United Kingdom. It appears on a scroll beneath the shield of the version of the coat of arms of the United Kingdom

A good George III silver triple decanter stand William Kingdon, London 1812, of boat form with gadrooned, shell and foliate borders and handles, engraved armorial to both sides, possibly for the Coote family of Ireland, the three decanter rings on foliate paw monopodia supports, raised on four winged paw feet, with a set of three Georgian cut glass pint size cylinder decanters, with two diamond cut neck rings, panel cut shoulders and printie, comb and strawberry diamond cut bodies, on a circular foot, 18in. (45.75cm.) long, silver weight 58.55 tr.oz.* Condition: Good condition - clear marks, no repairs or damage. Slight softening to engraved armorials from cleaning. Decanters good overall. One has a ground chip to the stopper plug.

A Swiss walnut 'Britannia' upright music box, late 19th century, the double steel comb movement marked THE BRITANNIA STE CROIX SWITZERLAND STAR SILVER DEPOT LONDON, the interior numbered in gilt REGD 370.254., the mechanical movement encased within a glazed cover, the case with mahogany turned finials flanking a timepiece with enamel Arabic dial, above carved scrolling foliate fretwork frieze and hinged doors with painted Britannia and the Royal Coat of Arms, on plinth base, with winder, approx. 67.5cm high, 42.5cm wide, 25.1cm deep, together with a library unit box containing twelve discs, and a Christie's purchase receipt, 1989Provenance: previously Christie's South Kensington, lot 209, November 1989Please note that Roseberys do not guarantee the working order of any mechanical music box.Condition Report: The case with wear consistent with age and use, comprising knocks, scratches, splits, chips to veneer and scratches to ebonised areas, to include: the top with chips to veneer and knocks and chips to edges. The doors with warping, chips and discolouration. The sides with discolouration and minor splits. The base with knocks, chips and scratches and ebonsied moulding with losses and scratches. The interior with splits and scratches. The glass with scratches. The teeth and teeth tips appear intact. The reverse with a large vertical crack and other minor splits. One of the feet has been damaged and repaired, the others with wear. The top appears to have had a larger superstructure which was attached by brackets to the upper section of the reverse of the case. The current finial with clock to centre may have been part of this. The clock is loose within and with wear. It is currently in working order when wound. It does not stop at the end of the tune. The discs are scratches, dented and with some rusting. The library unit box is worn with some tearing to leaves.
