A late 19th century Swiss musical box, with inlaid case and with 6 inch comb playing eight airs. Case width 17 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The music box itself is in generally good order. There are some small sections of boxwood stringing missing on the right hand side of the top which may be evident from our image. This equates to approximately 4 inches in total. The top is of good colour and the marquetry centre is in good order. The top is not warped, the front of the box has a section of stringing missing on the right and side and some scratches to the left. The mechanism winds and does appear to play as it should. There do not appear to be any teeth or teeth tips missing. The box appears to be playing as it should, it stops and starts and the repeat and change mechanism seems to operate as it should.
