Centre of the helmet has red painted Star with Hammer and Sickle to centre. Complete with the later leather sweatband and cloth lining with webbing chinstrap. These helmets were worn in the early part of the Second World War (Great Patriotic War) before being replaced by the more common SSh-39 and SSh-40 models. WW2 German Fire Police War Trophy Helmet, black painted fire brigade pattern steel helmet with comb top. Original Fire Police decal to one side and the other side Party decal. The helmet has been captured by an allied soldier and he has painted the names of the places in which he has served in North West Europe, Ostende, Mons, Rheims, Verdun, Bevaux, Ehrang, Malines, Namur, Luxembourg, Mainz, Oppenheim and Nord Inglheim. Complete with the original liner system and damaged chinstrap. The helmet has been coated in a varnish protector which gives it as shine.
