Fifteen piece 9ct gold mounted dressing table set, by Charles Henry Dumenil, London 1929, engine turned decoration including an oval cut glass jar, decorated with floral swags, width 10.5cm, two circular jars, diameter 6.5cm, two pairs of scent bottles, 10cm and 9cm, a small rectangular box, hand mirror, 26cm, a pair of hair brushes 23cm, a pair of clothes brushes 15cm, a comb, a shoe horn and button hook, together with another cut glass circular jar of the same design by William Neale & Son Limited, Birmingham 1935 and a hexagonal compact by Adie Bros Limited, Birmingham 1933, (17).
Rare Symphonion disc playing musical box, Model 25F, formed as a bound oak barrel surmounted with a large terracotta figure of Falstaff, an ale jug in his right hand and raising a glass in his left, the barrel having a hinged door to the front with script 'Symphonion' and opening to reveal the twin comb mechanism, the winding handle to the rear, together with five 11 3/4" discs, 113cm high Illustrated in the catalogue of Ernst Holzweissig Nachf for 1898 Condition: Figure has had a series of repairs including left leg, left foot, right leg, right toes, left arm and cloak, some missing areas including top of tankard, combs are complete with no signs of re-tipping, movement runs when wound - **General condition consistent with age

A French dragoon’s brass helmet c 1830, tall brass skull with front and back peaks, leather backed wire loop chinchain with rayed ear roundels, “frosted” ear to ear plate and back band, the front embossed with a large grenade in wreath, tall comb with Medusa head finial and palm wreath in front, and inverted tear drop embossed side panels, red (faded) “shaving brush” plume in holder, black hair crest and tail plume, white feather side plume, leather and cloth liner (replaced). An Ivory Coast Baoule carved hardwood comb, and a carved wood heddel pulley, both with handles in the form of a female head; an African Gurunsi wooden whistle, 14” overall; 2 Baoule fly whisks, the wooden handles terminating in heads with braided coiffures, the whisks of shredded hide; a New Guinea boat shaped wooden bowl, 17” overall, with good age patina (age split to one end); a wooden mask with pierced triangular eyes and mitre type head dress, 11½” overall; and an aboriginal pale hardwood open ended dish, with poker work decoration. A nineteenth century German Symphonion rosewood and walnut cased musical box with double comb and sold with eleven discs. With marquetry rose spray to the lid, having brass lion mask handle and fluted corner columns. Makers stamp Schutz Marke, serial 345755. 50cm wide, discs 29cm diameter. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Good original colour with some minor water marks to the polish. Mechanism working. Plays with some squeaks. Comb in good order.

A nineteenth century Swiss rosewood cased cylinder musical box playing on nine bells, 33cm wide. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Polish faded. Comb repaired. There is tension in the spring but it feels as though it is broken slipping after a few winds of the handle. The mechanism does run. Fourth tooth from the right with the very tip missing.

A 27cm Symphonion disc musical box German circa 1910, the centre drive disc playing on two comb's No: 104743 contained in an ebonised and transfer decorated case, the hinged cover decorated with a roundel printed Brevete with National emblems, interior with a paper label with winding handle and start/stop control at the side together with ten discs. CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1827 - The hinged ebonised cover, shrinkage crack running left to right through lithograph, surface scratching to lithograph, lithograph angles and the general surface, Symphonion label crack to paper reflecting the stress crack, hinges good condition, damage to one key on the left hand comb right hand side, working order.
