Italian Officers Model 1915 'Adrian' Pattern steel helmet with bronze Barsagheri badge with crossed rifles and strung bugle. With original two tone leather liner and chinstrap. Green painted finish. These were originally French helmets sold to Italy in 1915. The original blue can, be seen on the comb where the green paint had worn. The helmet in collectors grade condition and rarely encountered.
dating: Second half of the 16th Century provenance: Italy, Closed, interlocking helmet, skull in one piece with medium-high, twisted comb. Raisable visor, en suite, with two eye-slots and sharpened snout-faced, sides decorated with notches, spring-button for ventail fixing, ribbed in the center, pierced with ventilation rosette. Smooth beaver, plume-holder. Riveted front and back plate, interlocking. Gorget composed of three, front and back, pates, the highest one with twisted border. Breast-plate ribbed in the center, neckline and gussets (riveted) with high border, decorated en suite. The second loin-guard and the back one are restored. Pauldrons with complete brassards, left side with tournament buffe, margin with a recessed band and twisted borders. Eight-plate tassets, with borders en suite. Interesting armour with some touch-up, but of a beautiful appearance. height 107 cm.
dating: 1560 - 1570 provenance: Southern Germany, Helmet with iron skull, provided with a small comb, back part in two pieces, riveted and with plume-holder; visor ribbed in the center, slightly raised tip and with the only eye-slot, ventail ribbed in the center, smooth beaver, two plates of the neckguard and one of the nape-guard. Different repairs. Elegant breast-plate, ribbed with tapul, with protruding and twisted neckline and gussets (riveted), five, circular stamps shaping a cross under the neckline, a folding rest on the right side, with mark 'WR' above the carousel helmet, two loin-guards. Complete with back-plate with two culet plates, gorget with pauldrons with five (the left one with six) plates; the arm-cannons with undulated lower border, elbow-piece with wings, fore-arm and knuckle-shields. Tassets with eight plates and knee-cop. Small parts missing and defects, but all in all a fine uniform armour. On a wooden mannequin with suede boots. height total 170 cm.
dating: 17th Century provenance: Tuscany, Skull in one piece, with medium-height comb (small parts missing), with twisted border, skull sides adorned with longitudinal outlines. Breathing holes on the sides, disposed in a rosette, other holes on the back and a small, repaired plume-holder. Engraved letters 'F' and 'B' above. Typical, basket-visor with convex bars, disposed vertically. Beaver with a hook on one side. Single-plate nape-and neck-guard, fixed with iron rivets. height 26 cm.
dating: Late 16th Century provenance: Germany, Skull of oblong shape, in one piece, provided with medium-high comb, with twisted border. Comb sides engraved with characters riding mythological creatures, various, braided frames around them and rinceaux. The skull with two, fine, grotesque figures, one on each side, with nymphs whose lower part of the body transforms in the snakes or branches. Richly engraved with rinceaux on all the surface. Strongly sloping brim, engraved with geometrical motifs, file-roped border. A row of rivets at the skull base, with iron rosettes. height 30 cm.
dating: Late 16th Century provenance: Hannover, Iron skull in one piece, with low comb, decorated with braided bands on both sides and cherubs with dragons. The two skull sides with engraved segments on a blackened ground, with rinceaux, grotesques, female figures and mythological characters, these fields marked with bands engraved with spirals. Strongly sloping brim, both on front and back part, engraved with palmettes and geometrical motifs on the back. Hemmed and twisted border. Partially antique, partially later engravings. A row of rivets at the skull's base, with brass rosettes, some are missing. Remains of leather strings and fine, dark-brown patina inside. height 31 cm.
dating: 16th Century provenance: Italy, In iron, the skull in one piece with medium-high comb and twisted border, brim with grooved margin and border en suite with the comb; all the surface is finely engraved with faces, armor parts, trophies, musical instruments, shields and bands on a grained ground, the brim with floral motifs. The base with a row of brass rivets, brass plume-holder. Small damages and repairs. A repaired, leather sweat band inside. height 30 cm.

Cheek-piece with airing holes shaped as rosette and borders carved en suite. The helmet suffered a strong blow on the rear right side and on the cheek-piece that was restored in the time of use, small damages on the comb. Row of rivets with brass rosettes. height 32 cm.

dating: circa 1500 provenance: Italy, Central skull in one piece with a small comb (some small parts missing), with a typical hole at the peak, the tail ribbed with a rowel (of a later period?), restored lower part. The front with riveted reinforcement (very small parts missing and some flaking), with sloping border; ventail shapes the only eye-slot with the cup/reinforcement, sharpened and ribbed in the center, provided with three, rectangular ventilation holes on the right side. Openable lateral parts, the left one is original, the right one restored in the later period, together shape the beaver, closed with a button. Lower border decorated with a brass, riveted band, of a later period. height 29 cm.

Three loin-guards with five-plate tassets, all with upper border chiselled with waves, the lower one with a recessed band and hemmed border. Back-plate with nape-guard. Complete with brassards with knuckle-shields and full-leg defense, all decorated with double lines, the shoes with grooved tip. On a wooden mannequin. height 170 cm.
A pair of Georgian pint decanters of Prussian form, c.1820, with panel cut necks with three rings, panel and strawberry diamond cut decoration, ground pontil to base, with diagonal comb and facet cut disc stopper, 15.2cm. high plus stopper, one stopper missing; together with a Georgian pint bottle decanter, c.1810, with four neck rings and panel cut body, ground pontil, 18.1cm. high, lacks stopper; and a late Georgian claret jug, with comb cut rim, panel cut and four ring neck and strawberry diamond, prismatic and foliate cut decoration, with star and strawberry diamond cut globe stopper, 20.6cm. high plus stopper; plus a spare stopper and bottle coaster adapted from a matching claret jug. (6)* Condition: - Claret jug: Scratching to base. Tiny frit to end primastic cut on right side of rim and a few other minute frits to this cutting on both sides. Tiny frit to centre cut on handle. Some minute frits to cutting on body and one tiny bruise to upper prismatic band on body. Stopper has two small chips to centre prismatic cutting and small frits to other cutting. Spare stopper in similar condition. Inside has hard water staining. - Bottle decanter: The stopper shown in one of the pair of decanters in the photo actually fits this decanter. Tiny frit to body and a few minute frits to stopper - the stopper also has a few tiny chips to end. - Pair pint decanters: One has a few tiny frits to cut decoration and an old ground frit to lower body. The other has tiny frits to cut decoration, one tiny chip to lower edge of diamond cutting and two tiny basal chips. No stoppers.
