A sedan chair, possibly built by Duvernoy, son of Avignon, circa 1762-5, with full gilded sculptures to the original exterior woodwork, colour paintings of the seasons to the panels, lined in original deep blue velvet with a single remaining silk roller blind, the interior has blue comb cartisane fringes with taffeta, glass pull strings together with brass window position stops, seat cushion and valance, the floor has the original leather covering, the front door glass has been replaced but the side glasses are original, 84cm wide x 99cm deep, 173cm high, together with two long black cloaks and two tricorn hatsThe leather roof later replaced. the nailed leather rim of the top worn and with small losses. carved frame gillding dull and rubbed in parts. Hinged and carrying mounts in iron tarnished and a little rusty. the painted leather panels with chipping to paint around the edges where nailed in place.painted landscape to lower cartouches dry and faded and scuffed. Signs of old woodworn to base. right outside panel partially detached to lower section. left leather panel loose and detaching to back. Glass panels and front frame replaced. velvet interior worn. Locking plate missing to door. All over wear and scuffs commensurate with age and use.

He trained for the ministry at Horton College, Tasmania, and in 1865 was sent to be a missionary in Fiji. He spent fifteen years in Fiji, and eight in the Bismarck Archipelago. He returned to Australia in 1889.
A Musical Box By Ami Rivenc serial no unknown, with single-spring motor, single-section comb in red stained interior under dustlid, lacking tunesheet, in part-grained veneered case with the lid bearing fruitwood inlay and triple stringing on rosewood ground - 13in. The second a large oval Bohemian garnet locket, the front pavé set with small round garnets around a central pear cut flowerhead, diaper shaped bale en suite, hinged back glazed, interior vacant, length including bale 56mm. The third a large shell cameo brooch depicting the Madonna and Child, full length and seated by a pillar, collet set in an open frame of twined stems, mount testing for 9ct gold, suspensory loop with safety chain, length 62mm. Both cameo brooch pins are replacements and not gold. The agate panel is loose in the mount. The smaller cameo is probably mid 20th century.
