19th Continental Cuirassier’s Helmet. A good and impressive example The brass body surmounted by a brass comb, embossed with laurels and supporting black horsehair plume, which falls to the right. To the front a flaming grenade device within a wreath. Two circular boss’s, mounted with five pointed stars support a brass chin chain with leather backing. The interior with leather liner. Overall GC leather dry and now fitted with an incorrect feather plume.

An early 20th Century Wemyss ware comb tray, decorated by J Nekola with cabbage roses, painted mark "Wemyss Ware", painted initials "J.N.", 34 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Overall with general wear, crazing to glaze, some stains, tray has a very dull sound when tapped so an internal fault or hairline crack is possible, although this does not appear evident to the naked eye, some scuffs to edges and some minor scuffs to decoration.

A Wood and Brass 12in x 10in Field Camera, no maker`s name visible, comb-jointed with black bellows (G-VG), with Clement and Gilmer f/8 lens with rim-operated iris (VG) Camera well preserved, signs of light use - apart from some scoring around the tripod areas the wood is in above-average condition. Brasswork a little dulled but clean, and complete apart from one of the two knobs that control front rise. Bellows in good shape, leather strap present. Lens optically and cosmetically excellent, rarely seen in such a bright and smart condition.
A Sanderson Quarter-Plate Mahogany and Brass Field Camera, serial no. 22453 (apx. 1914), with Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar f/4.5 13.5cm lens in Compur rim-set shutter, with plate enabling camera to be fitted to modern tripod, body G-E, lens G, working shutter Comb-joined mahogany body, comb-jointed, a few trivial marks here and there but generally attractive. Brasswork complete and bright. Carry handle present, but broken. Lens appears to be clean with working shutter. Nice camera with no major issues.
A Sanderson Half-Plate Mahogany and Brass Camera, regular model, serial no. 14176, F with broken front panel, and J H Dallmeyer No. 3 Stigmatic series II lens no. 65977, F-G in non-working Bausch & Lomb shutter, and 2 dds Comb jointed mahogany body, original finish and clean complete brasswork and strap. Woodwork has usual minor scratches and bumps, otherwise good. Front panel needs repair, following which camera would be an attractive piece indeed. Lens unusually good, just a little internal fungus between back elements - might clean up if dismantled. Shutter non working but should also be repairable.

Brasswork complete and shiny, bellows appear to be in good shape. Lens has a tiny amount of separation at extreme edges but is also in above-average condition.

Camera body in comb-jointed mahogany, original finish, mostly in good shape except for crack on one side. Brasswork attractive and apparently original and complete. Handle, turntable present. Bellows intact and apparently in good condition. Shutter appears to work well, though obviously not necessarily accurately. T-P Beck lens in nice order, brass mostly shiny and elements clean. Quaint lens cap with exposure guide printed inside. Ross lens has working lever operated iris and elements above average with only a little separation at extreme edges and minor internal dust. Appearance good with some tarnishing. Attractive tripod. Useful pack of matching dark slides, also unrelated 5 x 4 Kodak dds and glass back.

Janvier, Paris, mid 19th century The eight-day outside countwheel gong striking movement stamped in an oval reserve JANVIER, A PARIS to frontplate and with 2.25 inch circular convex white Roman numeral dial with repeat signature to lower edge, the rear case panel fitted with a small cylinder music box movement playing a choice of two airs via a 2.5 inch pinned cylinder on a tuned steel comb mounted within brass bed, with pull-wind line and start/stop levers fitted to the lower right hand rear corner of the case, the front with mixed media (gouache heightened stipple engraving) image of a busy courtyard within a riverside town incorporating the clock dial to church tower and seventeen automaton actions including cow being milked, a duck bobbing in a pond, five chickens pecking, a waterwheel rotating, a goat feeding on a shrub, a blacksmith striking an anvil and a windmill turning, all operated from behind via an elaborate system of wooden pulleys and wire levers powered by a spring-driven motor also mounted within the right hand edge of the case, the image with printed signature CH. RIVIERE to lower left and measuring 55 cm (21.5ins) high, 73cm (28.75ins) wide; the case 81cm (32ins) high, 99cm (39ins) wide overall. A N.F. Janvier is noted in Hayard, Michel ANTIDE JANVIER 1751-1835 as working circa 1830..
