A George V silver and enamel cased dressing set London 1928, maker Mappin & Webb, the silver mounted set with turquoise bassetaille enamel decoration, comprising four hair and clothes brushes, tortoiseshell comb, hand mirror, shoe horn, button hook and four etched and cut glass jars & bottles, plus a sea-green leather jewellery box, in the original sea-green leather case with ivory silk interior and leather edged mirror inside the lid, case faded.

(52cm.) wide, some surface rust to comb.
An unusual Swiss inlaid rosewood and ebonised musical box 19th century, stamped no. 95929, playing six airs with lever operated selector, 7.5in. steel comb and 8.5in. plated cylinder, key wind, with lyre shaped damping mechanism, the rosewood and kingwood crossbanded case with ebonised moulded edges, inlaid with a musical instrument cartouche to the lid, the front panel with similar transfer decoration, 23in. (58.5cm.) wide.

Phillips, 1811, sixty-five (of 68) hand-col. eng. plts. of trades, Gardener plt. with small piece missing from lower blank margin, Gold-beater plt. uncol., pubs. ads. at rear of each vol., ex-lib. with ink stamp on verso of title-pages (showing through to rectos), contents generally toned and dusty, first two leaves to vol. 2 with upper outer blank corner torn away, front endpapers with library ink stamp and label, modern qtr. morocco gilt, lightly marked in places, 12mo in 6s. See Osborne, p.110. Uncommonly found with the plates coloured. Lacking a few plates as often (the Comb-maker, the Merchant, and the Tin-plate Worker). First published in 1804-5. Osborne has only an incomplete mixed edition comprising volumes 1 and 2 in third edition and a new edition of volume 3, lacking two plates. Mrs. Trimmer’s opinion of the work was as follows: ‘A few of the Prints relate to the employments of women, namely, the Straw-Hat-maker; the Lace-maker; the Milliner; the Feather-worker; the Laundress. These we think, in general, frivolous, excepting that the Prints are pretty. We recommend this Book as a valuable acquisition to the Juvenile Library. The Plates are uncommonly good.’. (3)
A brass fireman`s helmet, leather backed brass chin-scales with rose bosses, peak and neck guard with turned rims, raised comb embossed witha dragon to either side and decorated with celtic motifs, the helmet plate formed from crossed axes and a flaming torch intertwinned with a hose, leather liner, the neck guard stamped 14.
