Comb good and complete. Case faded and with some losses to crossbanding and inlays.

A 1920s leather vanity case with lined interior housing a George V hallmarked silver backed hand brush with overall engine turned decoration centred with a vacant circular cartouche, a matching shoe horn, button hook and a comb, five various silver topped clear glass jars, an ivory handled manicure set, a leather stationery wallet (four items missing), Mappin & Webb, London 1924, case 50.5 x 36 x 16cm, in canvas protective cover. CONDITION REPORT: The stripes to the inside of the case holding the lid are at fault, ripped in several places. Traces of wear.
A fine Victorian travelling vanity case by Finnegans of Manchester, the canvas slip protecting the gilt line decorated green leather main case set with hallmarked silver capped jars and fitments including six toilet jars, pair of clothes brushes, pair of hair brushes, comb, shoe horn, button hook, silver handled curling tongs, also leather notepads, a travelling manicure set, etc, the case bearing initials "R.M.", hallmarked for Charles Fox & Co Ltd, London 1897 and Chester 1897.

French 19th Century Cuirassier’s Officer’s Helmet. A good example of an Officer’s helmet. The skull and peaks are of fire gilt. Surmounting the crown, a gilt metal comb, to each side floral leaf decoration. The front is with a Medusa’s head, below this a flaming grenade. The comb is surmounted, by a short black horse hair tuft plume in gilt holder, the rear of the helmet with a black horse hair tail. To the left side a gilt metal plume holder (One screw post absent) and two large gilt circular boss supports an inter linked , metal backed chin scales. The interior retains part of its original leather sweatband. Gilt remains bright, some age wear GC
Coldstream Guards Officer’s WW1 Unofficial Helmet. A French “Adrien” pattern steel helmet, complete with regulation comb, seven-tongue headband of fine black leather, and narrow chinstrap. The helmet painted khaki, with original metal badge removed and replaced by a small painted Garter Star of the Coldstream Guards. Chinstrap defective, otherwise GC. This helmet came from the 1992 sale at Pitchford Hall, Shropshire, for centuries the seat of the Grant family and for many years home of Gen. Sir Charles John Cecil Grant, KCB, KCVO, DSO (1877-1950) a prominent Coldstream Guards figure. Educated at Harrow, Grant was commissioned into the Coldstream Guards in 1897 and served throughout the Boer War (wounded) and WW1 (twice wounded). In 1919 he was C.O. 3rd Bn. Coldstream Guards, in 1932 GOC London District and he retired as GOC Scotland in 1940. He was Hon. Col. KSLI 1930-46. Back in 1918 he had been assigned to the French Army’s GHQ as liaison officer between Sir Henry Wilson (CIGS) and Marshal Foch. He very possibly acquired the helmet in this period.
Yomut Turkmen 3 x 3 gul chuval face, Turkmenistan, circa 1920s, 2ft. 5in. x 3ft. 7in. 0.74m. x 1.09m. Closing loops to top edge. Small ‘bite’ to lower elem; slight moth damage in places; slight colour run. Note the minor erre-gul of confronting arrowheads and the colourful shrub-like motifs in the lower elem. cf. Jourdan, U. op. cit. p. 201, pl. 160 and p. 58, fig. 87. Lustrous wool and rich colour. together with a Yomut Turkmen 3 x 3 gul chuval face, Turkmenistan, late 19th/early 20th century, 2ft. 6in. x 3ft. 5in. 0.76m. x 1.04m. Closing loops to top edge. Small repair top right edge; slight fraying to sides. Note the two indigo bird’s feet motifs in the narrow top elem and the completely plain lower elem with the exception of an indigo ‘comb’-like motif in top right side. Good lustrous wool and rich, intense colour. (2)
A late 19th century P.V.F. rosewood cased music box, with brass cylinder and single comb movement, playing six airs, winding mechanism to base, glazed cover and a tune sheet to the interior, width 13cm. CONDITION REPORT Length 13cm. Some wear commensurate with age. Mechanism in working order. No teeth missing.
A vintage brass fireman's helmet, having cross axe plate to front, embossed dragon decoration to the comb, complete with chin strap, with damages (AF) damages to the peak and top part of the comb, plate slightly loose, three screws missing to the comb however still secure, generally good condition, no other signs of significant damage or repair

The top rail above seven long hewn spindles piercing through the bent-wood arm bow with ten further turned underarm spindles; five each side. The D-shaped elm slab seat morticed through with four splayed rustic legs, 41½ ins (105 cms) high, 26 ins (66 cms) wide.
