German Fire Service Officers Helmet, pre WW1 period German fire brigade officials helmet of leather body with brass comb to the top, scaled chinstrap with national and state cockades. Brass helmet plate to the front. Interior has the original leather liner. Some wear to the interior but generally good condition.
French Dragoon Troopers Helmet, brass shell with finely decorated comb top having medusa head to the centre with flaming grenade below. Covering the lower section of the helmet is a faux printed leopard print cloth which is tied at the back. Black horse hair plume to the back section of the comb with the top of the comb fitted with an ornate holder and black brush plume. Side of the shell is fitted with a socket holder and red feather plume. Leather banked brass linked chin chains with decorative circular side bosses. Interior of the helmet has the remains of the leather covering to the peaks and the dried band of the leather liner but no liner actually still present. Various stampings to the brass shell.

A cherry coloured faceted bead necklace, fifty three beads graduating from 10mm to 25mm long, strung on silver coloured wire and fitted with a gold colour bolt ring fastener, overall length 62cm, approximate weight 44gms, an amber coloured two prong hair comb 10cm, with five faceted beads to the top. Much as made, attractive sculptural style, nearly extremely fine. ex Michael Hall Collection (Part Two), 29 June 2010, lot 1395) The Hall Collection also sold a medal of her sister, Virginie Cécile Louise Doutreleau, born in 1812 (lot 1396). J J Richard was one of the Richard brothers, the founders who cast much of David d’Angers portrait plaquettes and the medal displays his influence.

A collection of various Treen ware to include a Swanee type whistle or Lotos flute with notes annotated to the piston, wool comb, unusual adjustable wall bracket, butter mould carved with horse and cart and parrot verso, massage tool and a pine four tier graduated wall shelf CONDITION REPORTS The Lotus flute has a large split/chip to lower half - see images. Woodworm holes to the mouth piece (5) - various impressed marks, small chips etc. Wool comb - some woodworm holes lost to the tip of the handle, teeth slightly bent, split to handle, general signs of wear and tear throughout. Wall brackets, some split impressed marks, chips, small losses, general signs of wear and tear throughout. Butter pat - large splits throughout, losses mainly to the corners, chips etc. Massage tools - some minor splits to the barley twist, some impressed marks - general signs of wear and tear. Various splits to the base and top - see images. Large curved tool - various chips, losses to the top and to the body - some splits forming to the handle. Impressed marks, scratches etc - general signs of wear and tear. Ridged butter pat - some chips, small losses etc, general age marks. Mountable holder - various old woodworm holes etc. throughout - large hole to side plugged with degrading cork, age related marks etc. Disc cutter - some splits to the disc, impress marks, hole all the way through the side emblazoned SM - general signs wear and tear throughout. Small curved tool - various splits, signs of wear etc. All items general signs of wear and tear through age, use etc throughout. Whistle has a large crack at the base and there is a crack running through the number/key marker. The adjustable wall bracket has a split to the top and a large section missing off the shaped front together with various other marks and scrapes all over. The butter mould has a large crack running through the main body. Massage tool has been repaired in several places especially notable on one corner. The pine wall shelf has some signs of old worm etc. All items have various splits, knocks and chips all conducive with age and use. See images for further details.

A 19th century cylinder musical box by Nicole Freres playing eight airs, the inlaid hinged lid and further glass hinged lid enclosing the mechanism, the comb having ninety-eight teeth, label to lid listing the airs and the retailer Wales & McCulloch of Ludgate Hill, no.45802, length of box 57.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: In working order and all teeth and tips are present. It is in tune. We would prefer not to post this ourselves, however, clients are welcome to arrange their own packing and shipping.
